Holee ancient thread batman ...
Anyway ... I have noticed that ... 12600 seems to be the prefix for a lot of starter clutches. I think the part is that first number, and the bike is the second number.
Like saying starer clutch of LS650 when you say 12600-24831.
Cool.

Ever get this sorted Ken? .....My mate Bertie the bike breaker has got all the old `zuki fiches and might know something we dont. If I tell him I love him and buy him a pint or two he might do some digging....lemme know pal.

Forget ken ... help me ... me ... me ... me ...
OK The savage starter gear has part number 12600-24831.
That means squat. 12600 is code for starter clutch (TL, intruder, etc etc etc even GS I am sure ... ) ...
Then 24 - everything on the savage has 24B ... ignitor, all electrical crap, all the motor parts ... much like GS has a 44 prefix.
So ... what else has that part.
Now, they have a multi teeth ring that does the duties of a starter clutch, that this is sold with ... possibly because with a lot of age, the 2 can wear together ... or possibly that is suzuki's way of making a killing cos the starter gear will blow out its teeth if the bike back fires at startup, and by tacking on useless crap to stuff you have to buy, you can have on your shelf collecting dust ... they make more $$$ ... You need a tire, but sorry we'll only sell you the tire with the rear fender and 1/2 the electrical system ... of you picked up a nail ... too bad ... Much like the little idiot lights in the GS dash ...
Anyway ... what else has that gear ... dont care about the clutch, I already have 1 I dont need ... I dont need a second.
Heck, dont even have to be a suzuki.
Cool.
