i've looked through the service manual a little bit, but i'm still not sure exactly what would cause this.....

the clutch works fine as far as pulling in the lever and all that, but when i push the shifter with my foot, it doesn't so much as click into the next gear, as it just feels really rough, and i kinda have to force it into gear, i can't think of a good example of what it's like, i just have to push a lot harder than i think i should, and at the same time, i just doesn't feel like it's all oiled and lubed that well, kinda like it's grinding into place,

any ideas??

You need to adjust the clutch cable. Take some slack out so the clutch releases more.

I've got a related question.  Since i put the drag bars back on my bike I've noticed that if I start it in gear (obviously with the clutch pulled in ) that there is a slight tug like the the clutch is not dsengaging the whole way.  I Loosened up the the tension nut on the clutch lever but if i go any further there the clutch won't have any feel to it.  I'm thinking  I may have to reroute the clutch cable or maybe tinker with the adjustment where it goes into the case.
It's notning major, it's not like the bike is trying to pull away from me or anything, Just a slight tug when i frst tap the starter.

JakeD-getting your nipple pierced is not crazy. Killing a drifter to get an errection? Now that's crazy!

Perfectly normal behavior for a cold bike with a wet clutch - not related to drag bars at all.

Yeah, I asked that question when I first got my bike about 6 weeks ago.  It's normal for the bike to jump a bit.  I'm almost getting used to it.
