Did a little bit of maintenance tonight and a couple of ?

I cleaned and lubed the chain tonight (was dirtier than I thought) and checked the air filter.  Everything seems good.  Now about the oil - the guy I bought the bike from said that he just changed the oil.  Should I trust him or should I change it?  The oil looks very clean and it's topped up well.  The bike is a '98 with about 3600 Kms on it.

everytime i get a new vehicle I always do a tune up oil change included just so I know where/ what I'm starting with. Thats what I always do, never know what the previous owner might have or have not done.

which reminds me, i was meaning to ask....

what part number spark plugs are good to use?  where to get them?
