Search !!! Yes, I am finally the first one to post that.

but basically from all the wheelie threads

1. get bike around 5-10mph

2. clutch in

3. rev to around 7k

4. clutch out

5. hope it wheelies

I never have been able to, well at least not yet  :icon_confused:

another suggestion was to put some weight on the front wheel and bounce it up as you clutch out.

hth

Put it on the center stand then lean back.  It's a pretty small wheelie, but it will be on the back wheel.    :thumb:

i have a little crest that i like to do wheelies from, basically straight out of a small round about, coming in hot, i compress the front and bounce it up and pull back. the front is off and soon as the bike goes over the crest on the rear wheel, its high enough to keep it there.
i don't like the clutch method as it happens quite quickly and you have to be quite fast with your controls but its doable with out a doubt, and practice makes perfect,
its a shame the gs doesn't have just a little more so we could just power it up, its a whole nicer feeling.
good luck, try not to crap off :thumb:

All you have to have are the right skills to make it fit.

Or enough money.

You're right.  It wouldn't be a GS500 anymore.

It'd be the first GSbusa :)

Don't forget about Alpha's post about the 14T front sprocket, if your not to big you probably can do wheelie's in second gear too!

Not exciting enough huh, you could dig a small hole under your rear tire.  The front should come up higher while on the center stand.

I accidentally popped the front wheel up a little bit with my girlfriend on the back. She was laughing her ass off and asked me to do it again, but only if I made sure she was holding on tight. It wasn't big, but she tought it was a f%$king blast. She laughed like a retard for half a mile at least.

Just joshin with ya Alpha, I agree you've gotta have fun on the bike.

Wheelies can look uber cool if they're done in the right place, like Troy Corser doing his curtsy wheelies in the superbikes a few years ago.

Squids doing wheelies on freeways & public roads not geared up properly is just stooopid

i had no problem doing one.... completely on accident, and my bike is really screwed up =P (can barely touch 90 mph), just revved it to 9-10k on a hill and let go of the clutch a bit too fast..

Wheelies are easy, I just getter goin bout 80mph and drop it in 2nd and she pops up real nice.  The GS500 doesn't have as many ponies as my EX500 so you might want to pop it in 1st at like 25 mph or so.  You can aslo buy a wheelie bar just about anywhere, they make your front tire pop up all the time at any speed.

1) I can't take anything seriously from someone with the handle "RuffRider".
2) Downshifting into second from 80mph is not going to make you wheelie. At all. Dropping rpms and releasing the clutch too fast is only going to make the rear wheel chatter and cause instability.
3) A wheelie bar is designed to prevent wheelies. That is their function and sole purpose.
4) So much incorrect information was said here only proves that this is either a joke, or you're a total idiot. Not surprising from an EX500 owner though (oh snap!).

ever since my bike got a rejet, the front tire wheelies a bit if rip though the 1 to 2 gear change, don't think it does it from 2-3. but from 1-2 it is pretty funny.

Hey I'm new to this site and I was only trying to offer what works for me.  I graduated from stunt scholl in 95' so I'm pretty sure I know how to do a wheelie.  We modify our wheelie bars to hook up to the front tire and that along with a Yanker 5000 clutch can get you doing a wheelie in any gear, and if you drop gears on a bike hard enough you will do a wheelie...trust me.  Maybe your just not riding your bike hard enough :dunno_white:  And what kind of a name is AlphaFire X5 anyway, I think you need to finish your name by putting an E in front of the X and two zeros after the five, then maybe you will know what you talking about.

i know a couple of guys that ride around on a ducati monster and stunt alittlebit and an rc51. those guys were able to get the front wheel of my marauder off the ground when even if im goin 1 mph and pop the clutch the bike only burns out i guess it is an art but it also has to do with how you position your self on my old gs650 which had less power then my gs500 i used to just get on the passenger pegs lean back and slam second usually brought the front up alittle. but otherwise im clueless. plus, i think i would rather keep my bike and my self intact instead of wheelieng at any speed.
