I'm toying with the idea of the F to E conversion for my 2004; or something similar to it.
The look of the upper faring has just really been bugging me the past few days :dunno_white:
I think the side farings look great & I'd like to keep them, but the front (that holds the headlight) is just so friggin HUGE. It's completly disproportionate to the rest of the bike...
I dunno... I've been thinking of cutting it down some so the front of the bike doesn't stick up so high compared to even the tail which is raised some w/ a GSX-R shock... I've been thinking of ditching the farings altogether....
I really do like the side faring though & how the paint (sticker :icon_razz:) desigh flows into the tank.
& I'd hate to have to spend money on a new headlight assembly for something dumb like this...
hmmm..... maybe I'll just try cutting it down some... which will probably turn into a nightmare.
oh well...
opinions??

Headlights are cheap.
im sure theres lots of people on here that would be intrested in buying your fairings if you decided to go that route. so cost really isn't an issue, you could prolly sell each piece individually on aby an get several hundred out of them all.

Mine pre-headlight. I haven't taken good pictures with the light on it.
I haven't even sold half of my fairings and I'm up to $160 profit. You can look to make at least $300 total by selling everything if its all in good shape. I'm getting $100 for the headlight alone.
My bike looks mean now. With the fairings I felt like I was trying too hard to look like a big boy. I felt like a poser.
Don't let anyone tell you wind is an issue. I just got back from an 85 mile cruise at 75-85 mph and the wind didn't bother me one bit. You'll get more wind on your legs and lower chest but it isn't a big deal.

lookin goooood :thumb:

Turd, you need to get some lower handlebars, then you will the baddest looking of all GSes.
Thanks bro. I've been wanting some clubman bars...but I can't handle the chrome. I gotsta have black!

**EDIT** Wait...you've just described Alpha's bike. His bike looks exactly like mine (minus the rear wheel/tire...but that's coming soon) and he has many more mods including SM2 bars. Give the man some credit!

Turd - you need some different grips, SM2s, some new pegs, maybe some case guards.
Ugh. I can't wait to get me some Pilot Powers.
Are you glad that I convinced you to remove the sticker on the rear plastics? I hated that thing. Your bike looks SOOPA clean!
-Turd.
Im surprised you sold the fairings and light. In case you ever decide to resell it
I plan on totalling mine :thumb:

Yeah, i'm in the same boat as Wrecent. That's why i'm trying to get someone with a black 05 to swap tails.
Yeah, i know it's probably not gonna happen...
Damn Brian.. your bike looks awesome..
Oh yes, I'm in the same boat as Wrecent_Wryder as well.. damn!

I should hope so. I put a lot of time into it, though the money part not so much. I am the bargain KING!
Interesting seeing those pics. My 97 is going to look fairly close to them. Same 04 tank, 05 tail and black frame but with Kat forks, silver wheels and a dual headlight. Probably going to try to cut in a GSXR/TL brake light.
That's a good lookin bike, Alphafire.
I've been thinking of doing the same thing to my bike. 04 blue gs.
I hate the white tail piece. Where did you get the paint to match the tank?
Is that a Suzuki head light or an after market. Any links for parts.
I use my bike mostly for commuting and ride year around. I would like to put a better windshield on it. Naked is the only way I can do that.
Thanks for any help
Puddlejumper.
Puig makes a windshield for the "F" models, though its not a huge improvement over stock from what I hear.
Alpha's headlight is a stock GS500 headlight. He swapped tail plastics with someone with a 2005 GS500 to get the blue tail.

Yeah, except mine is an '05 tank! The '04 tanks had a black center stripe, whereas the '05 had a light blue.
What dualy headlight are you going to run? The Dominators? Those look fantastic.

Black...Blue...heck for $58 I do not care if it is Purple.

Yep, using a Dominator in Black. FlyNCylce has them for $110. But I need to fabricate some brackets for the 41mm forks.

$58! Nice! Not as nice as my $26 tank though! :)
I really like the Dominators, but a guy here in the sportbike club I'm a part of has them on his SV... and I wouldn't want to look like I was just copying him after all.

It was still better than the $80 red tank I have. Eventually I will fix the other tanks I have. Sometimes I get some good deals, like the Black & Gray wheel chock I won last night for $0.99. I do not need it since I already have one but they sell for $60 new.
You could always install a SVS upper.

What are on my mind right now are Pazzo levers... If I work 10 hours of overtime I could pretty much buy them without taking too deep of a hit to my regular paycheck. I'll be getting 5 hours of overtime this week at least, so I'm most of the way there. Just need to decide wether I can afford the $160.
Whoa.. I just did a google image search.. those Pazzo bars are hot... Something to consider...

Yeah, $160 shipped is a hell of a lot, but the bling is serious, and the adjustability would be awesome.
They're adjustable too?! (Sorry, was looking at a REALLY small thumbnail).. that's awesome.. the bling is great... The black would go well with my black bike too.. schweet!

Probably not going to get them. Can't justify the cost right now, as I need to start saving my money (school, new bike next winter, whatever).
