First off, I'm fine. Don't worry.
I got out of class at 8:00pm and met my girlfriend and friends at this wonderful Indian food restraunt near campus called the Clay Pit. We waited over an hour for a table, but were finally seated. After dinner was over my girlfriend took my backpack in the car with our other friends and I took the bike home. They were stopping off at people's apartments/dorms to pick up various things for the rest of the evening.
When i got back to the apartment complex I pulled behind a truck who was waiting at the gate. I was behind him, on the left hand side (very left). He obviously didn't have a clicker to open the gate, so I fumbled around in my pocket trying to find mine to let the guy in. All of a sudden I see white lights from his taillights as he shifted into reverse. I couldn't believe he was actually doing this. I backpedaled as fast as I could, but it was an incline. He reversed faster than I could move and his bumper hit my front wheel/fender. He kept reversing even after he hit my bike and caused it to fall over on the bike's left hand side, toppling me with it. I hit the ground twisted, with my right palm, left leg, left elbow, and eventually my head (but thankfully lightly).
When I got up I hit the kill switch and sat down for a little while. After that I turned the bike off and hefted the bike up from it's nap-like position and walked it to a parking spot away from the main drive. The guy kept repeating "Oh f%$k." and "I didn't even see you." I was very calm through the whole procedure, collecting his information and avoiding going off on him for not looking before he backed up. I felt the bike over as best I could for the limited light I had.
Damage to the bike (my guess):
- Scratches on the case gaurd
- Scratches on the left bar end
- Scratches on the left mirror
- Scratches on the left footpeg
- Bent bars
- Chip in the paint on the tank
Damage to my gear:
- Scrape on my right glove palm
- Very minor scuffs on my helmt
- Minor scrape on my jacket
- Scrapes on my shoes
I'll be taking it to a shop today, hopefully, to get their look-over on it. If the forks are bent or there is a scratch on the frame, they will probably total it. But then again that means I could buy it back for cheap and make a track bike out of it. :) Sweet.
I'll keep y'all posted.
:o damn, glad to hear you're all right though and that your girlfriend wasn't on the bike at the time as well.
Wow dude...that's ridiculous. Glad you're alright.
He's lying. We all know he was fumbling for his clicker, and just then, he sneezed and went over.
Glad you're all right, Alpha.
Yeap Yesterday was Friday the 13th.I know of Several guys thathad some sort of Accident Yesterday. :o :o
Yeah I didn't ride yesterday.
Alpha. Sorry to hear man. If you need someone to pummel his face until it no longer resembles face let me know.
Alpha,
I'm sorry to hear about your accident. How are you feeling physically today? You said you landed twisted, I hope you didn't stress your back or neck. I hope the insurance claim goes well.
Chilly
good to hear your ok, but couldnt this be avoided? Possibly not being so close or pulling up so you are not actually behind the guy, but off to the side so when something like that might happen he would miss you or you would be able to get out of the way? Are you a squid that cant get in a line behind a truck correctly?
Sorry Man. But, at least you got to eat at the clay pit. Haven't been there since I moved from Austin. I love that place.
Even if he was a full car-length behind the truck, reverse gear (especially on an incline) is much faster that backpedalling on a motorcycle. I was schooled in a similar way a few days ago, after pulling up behind a Chevy Cavalier at a stop sign. It stalled and began to slide backward towards me, with no brakes on. From what I could tell (through the rear window), the driver was trying to learn standard, had stalled the engine, kicked out the clutch but neglected to hit the brake pedal. In the moment that it took me to realize this, the car had rolled about three feet closer (I try to stop about 6 feet behind cars and about 8-10 behind bigger trucks). Backpedalling might have kept the distance, if I had started right away. Of course the car stopped before it collided with me, but it was a lesson learned. Good luck on the recovery and insurance, Alpha.
Glad to hear your ok Alpha. Its one thing im particularly worried about doing as its so hard to back peddle a bike quickly so im always trying to offset myself when riding behind vehicles which cant see me, even if that means riding close to the white lines.
I can't be bothered to start another depressing crash thread so i just thought id let you all know i took a spill too, although it was 2 nights ago. Doing about 45-50mph approaching 30mph signs into the village i live in. The road was wet and slightly muddy due to heavy storms weve had last week so i was being pretty careful but obviously not careful enough. Applyed the front brake and the front wheel just locked up and was gone in a flash the bike slapped down on the left side. Just going through the 30 signs. Bike slid about 100ft i slid about 80 over a raised gate. Damage to the bike was: Worn away and cracked generator cover, worn away clutch lever end, worn bar end, scuff on rear tail plastic and crack and scuff in left plastic. Damage to myself: bruised left side, cracked rib (from sliding over a raised steel grate in the road). No road rash as the leathers held up fantastic. Scuffs on both arms and on my back (i slid and rolled) left leg knee was scuffed and knee slider worn away. Helmet was undamaged. All came out ok, doesn't appear to have bent or twisted anything, just going to check the engine mounts as it took most of the force, will be repairing and repainting the panels but probably the whole bike so it can all look nice :) Just thought id let you guys know.
Dammit Alpha! Now I'm scared to ride. Cuz we both know whatever happens to you happens to me the next day!
uhm.
HORN!
It seems that people missed that I was fiddling in my pocket trying to find the clicker for the gate when this guy started backing up into me. From the time he shifted into reverse and started going backwards (very little delay between the two) I had barely got my hands on the bars. He had his music blarring pretty loud and all his windows closed, not sure the GS's piddly little horn would have done anything had I managed to press it.
I feel fine today, no soreness or anything outside of the ordinary aches and pains. I have an appointment to get my bike looked over by the dealer next Saturday. I'm going to have them add my gear, or at least the helmet, gloves, and shoes, on there as well. I've already got my new helmet picked out and everything.

If you actually took the time to read what I posted, you'll note that I was offset from his centerline, like you're supposed to be when you pull up behind someone. And, as noted by Flywheel, a truck's reverse gear beats a distracted backpeddling motorcyclist on an incline any day. Yay reading! You jackass.

Sorry to hear about what happened, Alpha. Glad you're okay.

Alpha, if you had your full fairings on, I'm sure the dude in the truck would have seen you. You have no one to blame but your naked self.
Well you should have been smart enough to know that something like taht could happen because your no squid, right? And if you would have offset yourself enough that when he came back that he wouldnt hit you then it would have been just a scare and no collision. You can be offset but it still wont mean anything till you are offset enough that you are no longer in his line forward or backward. I think your just mad cause you got ran over and it could have been avoided. :thumb:
glad you're alright man!
oh jeez....
alpha, glad he didn't punch it backing up!
alpha been there, btw man, i didnt ask, cause i guess you were aggrivated on the chat room when you were talking about it, but what kind of truck was it, cause i had an incident with my gs, on my 3rd ride involving a transfer truck who decided to reverse to tlka to a buddy, i did the name and number thing, but he never showed number was disconnected, etc, so his delivery truck ceased normal operation a day later

STFU. I'd like to see you try it. And if you were reading AT ALL, you'd read that he pulled up behind the truck trying to get into a GATE...
Meaning, there was probably room for TWO cars... One car going in, one car going OUT. Alpha couldn't have offset himself enough to avoid this.
The ONLY way he could have avoided this was to wait in the middle of the street. That way, he wouldn't get backed into. He'd get run over by another car.
And besides... someone almost gets hurt because of SOMEONE ELSE'S fault, and you have the galls to insult him?
OMW is sorry to hear of your incident/accident and is happy that you are alright and still among us.

Can you not read or comprehend things? Like An said, I pulled up behind him at a gate, which meant there was enough room for our lane, and the lane EXITING the gate. So that means I would have had to either pull behind him or pull into the opposing lane and face exiting traffic. Yay reading! You jackass.

Wasn't I.

Glad you're okay friend. Thats a bunch of friggin hoo-haa.

well i still think it could have been avoided. Its not like traffic is going to fast to be sitting on the center line as it is a gate after all and people stop and go stop and go. So center line would be no problem, as the traffic would not be "rushing" past because they were just sitting waiting for the gate. And also, fiddling with your keys. sure it was nice, but you could of at leat anylized the situation and because your no squid you should have known he possibly might reverse as he couldnt find his key or whatever he needed. I think your still going through the squidly stages of biking, maybe youll learn to make yourself safe and then help the other person. Because in this situation you werent safe and neither was he, but if you would have let him know you were there somehow or pulled to the side and then got your key you would have not been hit. Right? One day youll grow out of the squidliness. :kiss3:
whoa alpha then the dude in the truck should have seen you, thats what mirrors arefor. :nono: but like others have said, least you survived with little more and a bruised ego and a few aches. but thank god for gear eh? :thumb:

Il prolly be out for a few weeks - about the time it should take me to get the bike back in working order. The state of the roads around me has always annoyed me but more in terms of having to avoid wet grates and raised grates right in a riders path because they are uncomfortable to ride over (its a common problem here in the UK, bikers are given no consideration when designing roads) However after sliding across one its not just an annoyance and danger riding but when youve fallen too.
I went riding as a pillion today, to mallory park to watch the race of the year and some other good races. Met Chris Walker and had a chat with Neil Mckenzzie - he wasn't doing anything track wise he was just been inconspicuous and watching the races with his son and happened to be stood next to us which was cool. The sitting in pillion position was abit painful due to bruises and rib but it was ok - more annoying because i had planned to ride my bike with the group of us going on bikes!
Well....I guess it's time to come clean and tell y'all about my spill.
I was on my way to work, going about 50mph, when I see a bicyclist on the side of the road traveling in the same direction. There was also an oncoming car, so I slowed to about 40 to avoid having a 3-wide situation on a 2 lane road. Right after the car went by the bicyclist made a 90 degree left turn in front of me (I assume trying to get to his driveway that was across the road). The very last thing I remember was his body being perfectly in line with the bike.
Whatever I did saved his life since I hit the rear of his bike (he was thrown and messed up his knees pretty badly) whereas my bike ended up on its right side. I can only imagine what would have happened to him had I hit his body.
I was apparently knocked unconscious sometime after my last memory. I awoke on the ambulence with the EMT asking me what number he told me to remember (It was the number 6....I had no idea )
Damage to the bike
-Broken front fender
-Tweaked headlight (still points straight...is just positioned to the left a bit)
-Bent handlebars
-Relatively messed up radiator (cap was ripped off and a small hole was rubbed in the metal thingy that goes into the engine block)
-Bent rear brake pedal
-F%*&d up guage cluster. It still works, but is no longer bolted to bike.
Damage to me
-Broken right clavicle
-3 bruised ribs
-"Severe Head Trauma"
This all happened on tuesday the 10th. They say it's going to take 6 weeks for the bone to heal...hopefully I can will it to heal faster
If you all want I can post a picture of my xrays and of my gear (for all your blood, guts, and gore lovers lol :flipoff:)
Anyway....Glad you guys are ok Alpha and Kasumi....
Btw...My helmet was messed up pretty badly. The visor was ripped off sometime during the sliding. I was wearing a cheap JC Penny's leather jacket that I got last week for 20 bucks. It did a remarkable job of saving my hide. As did my patched up jeans. I've had them for so long that they are essentially 3 layers of patches all the down the legs. So my road rash is very limited (about the size of a quarter on the tip of my knee)
Sorry Man, Glad you're alive though.
Bob
:o :o :o
Glad all three of you are ok (relatively speaking)... :kiss3:
Glad all of you are ok
skoebl, don't bet on it. 6 weeks is being extremely optimistic. Even if you think you should ride, don't. Wait two months before taking the bike for a spin, or longer.
Kasumi, UK roads are awesome. I completely envy your situation. Lane spitting, check. 365 days of riding, check. Awesome twisty winding roads, check. I don't understand why there aren't more bikes on the road, especially given the rush hour traffic. Yeah, so you have a little rain, and those nasty speed trap cameras, but no big deal.
[edit] : And the price of gas, errr.. petrol. Why would you drive anything other than a bike?
Lol I dunno. I only have a bike and its bloody good for that exact reason - fuel doesn't kill me.
The roads around here are pretty awesome in terms of twistyness (every road is twisty) But i live in the country so you have to be careful for horses and mud on the roads from the farms.
As i said i went to Mallory park yesterday there was probably 500 bikes there just to see Chris Walker! I know alot of people around here with bikes but most of them are fair weather riders - i will be out all year round - they only come out when its warm!
I vote for more bikes!

I called the agent I'll be working with and she got my side of the story. She then called the insured and called me back shortly thereafter and we made an arrangement to leave my bike at the dealer for a few days so their adjuster could work with the shop to get the estimate done properly. I then made a claim on my hlmet since it did hit the ground, and I'll be getting a new one. They're even giving me a rent-a-car to drive around until my bike is fixed.
I should hopefully have everything taken care of by the middle of next week.
:thumb: :thumb: :thumb: I'm glad he has insurance (and isn't lyin' his @$$ off about the incident). There's nothing I hate more than hearing about fleabags who are uninsured and don't take responsibility!
-1 to anyone who gets on Alpha's case.
Seriously this is what STFU was meant for.
shaZam! happens, none of us are perfect.
Get off Alpha's injured, bike smashed case and go ride in a parking lot until you are the perfect rider. (As if a perfect rider exists.) And then go show us how you can PREDICT what everyone does minutes, even HOURS before they do it.
Oh yeah, and flaming me would be really smart, being that I'm mearly stating that people SHOULD NOT jump other people's cases for small mistakes.
Wait, what mistake? I had a choice of either file in line behind this guy or get nailed by oncoming traffic, because people DO exit this lot quickly.
I should hopefully only be bikeless for a few days, rather than the MONTH when a guy backed into my bike last time.
naah alpha i believe he was making a statement. a general one. not really directed at you in particular (imho)
The mistake of being in the wrong place at the wrong time and not being superbikerman and flying over the truck magically.
So why is that guy picking on Alphafire?? There is even something in the Tard Farm about it??? Seems awful childish to me. Sometimes bad things happen no matter how careful you are. I just hope that that guy is so careful that he doesnt get a bunch of karma up his hindend!!

I got this one for $411 after taxes, which is about how much the one from Cycle Gear would cost me.
Also, I haven't even SEEN any '07s out, not even on the Shoei website.

and who is? :cookoo:
It's a story by Daniel Defoe about a bloke who gets shipwrecked on an island alone. He eventually finds a native of the island who he names Friday. I think he gets rescued & makes it home to find his wife (Helen Hunt) has gotten remarried & now works as a topless dancer at a club called the titty twister, or some crap like that.
Therefore the saying "Well your not Robinson Crusoe" means your not alone or the only one. It was just a saying that my mamma used when I was a wee lad only knee high to a grasshopper.
I LOVE that book...it's kinda wordy, but it's an amazing story. Defoe was a real nutcase, though...
I've never read the book through I might wait till it comes out on video.
waiting for it to come out on video or waiting disney to re-synidcate it? Because if you're waiting on the former we've got a lovely suprise for you.
No movie does the book justice. Like I said...defoe was a total loon...you can't put that in a movie.
It was a lame joke as the movie castaway was a lame ripoff of Robinson Crusoe ( IMHO).
I'll get a copy of the book & read it. Movie adaptations of books are usually half assed pieces of crap.

Ahhhh yes. in the movie when they're sending messengers from the fort & they're picking off the attackers from the top. they use silk as a patch to gain an extra 50 yards, in what would have been a smooth bore musket. Apart from little things like that it was an enjoyable flick.
actually the whole silk things is mildly accurate...you have to take into consideration that the alternative would be wool (heavy) or paper (coarse and heavy).
But the movie was far more enjoyable than the book...I believe reading the book was almost as horrible an experience in literature one can make. I mean, do we REALLY need to read 8 pages about Magua's left mocosin?

Nope, had another RF-1000 before. HJCs don't fit me right.

Bike goes in for its appointment to get looked over this Saturday at 11am.
My mileage is sitting right around 15,800 something right now. I only get in about 120 or 130 miles a week now, because all I have time for is commuting. Haven't been on any rides in a while, unfortunately.
Well I went to the library at lunch & got a copy of Robinson Crusoe. I'll do a book report once I've finished :thumb:
any word?

The first "quick" estimate gave ~$1700 in parts and labor. That didn't include the bars, frame, or case guards though. The adjuster looks at it tomorrow and I'll hear back about everything hopefully by middle of next week.
news?

news?
The insurance adjuster had already been to the shop BEFORE I took the bike in because he didn't bother reading the note on his assignment that said "Bike will not be availible until Saturday, October 23, 2006. So I called them and complained and if no one goes to look at it by Friday, as I was told would happen, I get to call and shout and scream.
That's about it. I have to ride the bus to and from campus, which ends up taking anywhere from 15 to 40 minutes longer than it would be when I take my bike. And that doesn't even count the time I spend walking from the bus stop to my classes. Motorcycle parking is right outside essentially every one of my classes.
damn this sucks but you already knew that.
gotta find a chepo car like i did, 1988 civic 4 door for drum rollll 75$
new tires, brakes, full tank of gas, new used engine damn it was a steal

I got a beat up '98 Civic that I drive around, but I can't take it to campus and park it there like I do my bike simply because the bike has better parking areas and is far cheaper to get a permit for. $66 a year for prime motorcycle parking or $300/year for commuter parking (big lot, then take a bus to campus).
they charge you for motorcycle parking?
wow. I get to park for free.
Alright ladies and gentlemen, my bike was declared as a total loss, which means that it will be totaled out. This also means that as soon as I have another bike lined up the little GS will be going strictly to track duty and y'all will see some cosmetic bling up for sale in the near future.
I'm going to call the adjuster now and see what he says about payment and buyback and whatnot.

Unfortunately, I don't think I'm ready to handle a 125HP liter bike (Z1000), nor do I think I want to deal with the Ducati maintenance at this stage in my life. I can't afford insurance on a 600cc supersport, nor do I like their fairings. However, I am talking with a guy about 30 minutes north of Austin about his DRZ400SM which is for sale.
sweet
Ducati is over rated.
personly i would go with a honda VFR.
VFR's are kick-ass.
Bring your GS up here so I can build you an exhaust for it and I'll put you on my TL...the 125hp jump isn't as tremendous as you think it is.
And Ducati is anything but over-rated. I used to think so but the bikes are fine, fine machinery. I also used to be leary about the valve checks...until I learned that it takes fewer tools than changing the oil on my TL and only 45 minutes.
don't get me wrong, i i just personally don't see the need to spend the money on that brand when there are far cheaper and well more use-able (as in cost to operate).
if i was getting one it would be the monster
guy at work is leting me ride is vfr tomarrow, so that should be interesting. as i want a new bike one that is more suited for more touring. the gs is mostly my Buddha Loves You now.
hell last night got home, got off and droped it. didnt pick it up till this mornning. its like a dirt bike now lol
(i kid i kid)

Oh my God, I actually agree with Mak on something! The valves on my GS have to be adjusted 33% more often than the valves on my Ducati as per manufacturer maintenance schedules.
The "All Ducati's require too much maintenance" crap is just that; crap. I liken it to the "All Harley's leak oil" BS. Both of these statements may have had merrit at one point a few decades ago, but now they have become hear-say.
What I
will say about Ducati maintenance is that it is extremely expensive. If you can't perform valve checks and timing belt changes by yourself, its going to get pricey. My Ducati is coming upon the 12k service. It'll take me the better part of an afternoon and will cost around $60 for belts. The dealer would charge around $1,000 for the same service. :o
-Turd.
Right now I'm in the process of haggling a price for my bike. He said that the value for my bike was around $2500, based on "sales in my area". He said that there was a ~$1000 deduction for "excessive mileage". My bike has 16k on it. Cash value for my bike was $3480, and the ~$1000 deduction took it down to $2480, plus $65 for the value of the case guards.
$2500 for a 2004 GS500?! WHAT A LOAD OF shaZam!!!
THEN I figure out that he has the mileage wrong, and he's registering it as having over 20k miles, and therefore his estimate is wrong too. I sent him a fax (because no one in State Farm has an e-mail address, apparently) with the list of things I did and how they increase the bike's value. He should call me back later today and I can haggle for the best price I can get.
Wow, have fun. Insurance is the biggest pain, EVER. I know you wont let them screw you, but its not going to be a pleasant process.

My bike either has:
a) So much respect that people don't feel worthy to have its parts
b) A dang voodoo curse that causes things to run into it, people to walk in front of it, and the ground to lovingly caress it
c) No respect and people think the stuff I have is worthless
C
D)
So basically what you're telling us is that they'll cut you a check for $2500 for a busted bike, right? I mean yeah, it'd be a total shaZam! loss to buy the bike for that much but screw them...buy another one and spent the $1500 you have left over on your new, perty Z.

No, that's how much they were telling me my NON busted bike was worth. I told them, in not so many words, that that was f%$king bullsh*t. So they were trying to cut me a $2500 check BEFORE buy back.
f%$king insurance company.
no that's what I'm saying. They want to give you $2500.
I'd say screw it, go buy another GS if you want, and spend the rest on your Z.
Get my point?

I can't just "spend the rest". I don't have any extra money to spend outside of what I'm getting from the insurance company. What I plan on doing is using the majority of that insurance check towards a DRZ, and selling off parts (there's a thread in the For Sale section) to raise the rest of the money.
get a lawer and sue them. had to do this with gieco to get the money for my truck.
told me a 30,000 truck was only worth 10,000 when it was a 2 years onld and 150,000 miles.
i got my damn money but boy did i go though hell to get it though.

Where in the hell were you driving to put on 150,000 miles in two years? The moon?
Alpha, If it helps you gauge, I got 2700 for my '01 with 5500 miles back in April of '05 when I got ran over. Which was right at the high kbb value (at the time). I also got 1000 for all my gear and well... I'll just say I came out to the good because of an ER visit, some pretty rash, and a week off work... pain and suffering. Of course, they dragged out my settlement to over 6 months, and I had to get my lawyer to make a few calls to get them moving.
I got a call back from the insurance company on Friday. Apparently they didn't get all the sheets I faxed over, so they only had information on the suspension work I did. Also, according to them the RaceTech springs I put in don't add value to the bike because the OEM units are more expensive. I did a little research and found that OEM springs are roughly $28, whereas the RaceTechs are $110. If the OEM units were so great, why does everyone complain about how crappy the suspension is on the GS? My adjuster's little pricing error worries me.
Also, they readjusted the "excessive mileage" deduction from nearly $1000 to "only" $550. After all was said and done, they said my bike's value was just a touch over $3000. Load. Of. Crap.
I faxed the two pages that they didn't get to their office AGAIN on Friday evening, so they should hopefully call me back on Monday so we can sort this stuff out. I am going to contest not only the value of the springs and my adjuster's egregious pricing error, but also the "excessive mileage" bullsh*t they are trying to pull on me. It's a 2004 model with 16k miles, which averages out to roughly 8k miles a year. Hardly excessive, I feel, especially considering that Texas has a 10+ month riding season. Hell, in a lot of circles I'd be made fun of for not riding the poor thing enough.
We'll see how everything goes this week.
If you answered this don't get mad at me. But who the f**K is your insurance company? And no I dont' want to search :icon_mrgreen:. I have never had those kinds of problems with state farm and i have had some werid claims before :icon_rolleyes:

Like Turd said I'm dealing with the other guy's insurance company, which is... drumroll.......... State Farm.
Keep in mind, though, that modifications do not actually add value to a bike in the eyes of an insurance company. You can point it out, but I doubt they'll do much to waver unless they're just feeling genorous. I would point out, though, that the GS's popular market value is between $3450 and $3525. This can be seen on almost any online appraisal site or inside their KBB or NADA booklets.

Because my insurance company is slower than me, and they probably would have settled for the $3000.
since you are not at fault I find it incomprehensible that your bike isnt returned to condition as before, no questions asked...who cares what the bikes value is...unless they're totalling it-did I miss that? if they are you're in for a fight. I was just talking to a couple friends in that situation and they had to present a case for how much their vehicles were valued in order to get satisfaction from the insurance company. They will lowball anyone to keep from paying out. rat bastards.

Yeah, they declared it a total loss because the repairs came out to roughly $2200 before aftermarket parts. I'm in the fighting process right now.
Alright, I got the final word from the insurance company. My adjuster says that the highest he can go is $3300 and I keep the bike. Should I try and argue him up to $3400, or is it not worth the effort?
Also, thanks to everyone who responded to my "soft fork springs" poll! With that evidence he added on a 50% value of the springs to the value of the bike (~$50). Every penny counts, eh?
Also, if my father decides he wouldn't mind having a track bike to use, the GS will stay in the family in track-only guise, otherwise it's getting sold in favor of a DRZSM I'm looking at.
damn...that sounds like a good deal.
raffle it off on gstwins.
I say take it... and part your bike out to me... I want an upgraded rear shock and racetechs in the front, since we're about the same weight... I also want your seat... and anything cool you've got..
DIBS!!!
Wow, thats a great deal. I love your bike...but on paper you have to admit, $3,300 for a 2004 GS500 with 16k miles and a few minor accidents and some modifications is awesome.

$3300 after I buy the bike back. I think he said it was worth $3650 before TTL, and close to $4000 after TTL. I'm just argumentative. I'm going to give it one shot to see if he'll waive it up to $3400 and the bike, but just one shot. If he doesn't bite, I'll just take the deal.
I'ma get retarded! Err... motarded. Mo'tarded?
Well, I settled. I am going to pick the bike up in an hour or so, and go get the check from the insurance company's claim office.
I have an interested buyer, and he's going to come look at the bike tomorrow. We'll decide which parts he wants and which ones he doesn't, and the bike will go to whatever condition we agree upon, and the other parts will go up for sale here.
A few people already have dibbs on parts if they go on sale...
AJ - SV mirrors
average - F model headlight
coll0412 - RaceTech springs
dwn4whadever - SM2s
