Title: This Weekend's Mods
Post by: Whatever6060 on October 23, 2006, 01:05:01 PM
So I had a busy weekend, I installed a set of Gimbel Rear Set's and put in a 22.5, 65, 145 jets with the K&N Lunchbox.

All went in alright and the bike actually started afterwards (which I was surprised about).

I got two questions.

I had to purchase a breather valve for the tube that went from the Airbox to the Intake manifold.  The one I bought looks liek garbage compared to the one of the WIKI.  IS there are specific one I should buy or will anyone due.

Also,  engine seem to pull alright with the new jet kit.  I got some hesitation around 8,000 RPM though.  I did 3 turns on the air mixture screw.  Do you think it could be running a little rich so another half a turn would fix it?

Lastly, (i know i said two questions but i just thought of another) should my bike jsut start up without choke now?  When I orginally started it (after the swap) I need the choke but I figured that was because the carburators were empty.

Oh, btw-anyone interested in jets for the matrix i described above.  I ended up buying in 4's from Sudco, so I have a (stage three) DIY jet kit for sale, if anyone is interested.

A hesitation is lean, at 8k rpm I would say to move the circlip on the needle down a notch.

Is that applicable for a 04?

I did not touch or see the 'needles' while I was doing it.  I just replaced the Main mid main and pilot.

Would you mind parting with just the 145's?  I'd buy both of them off of ya!

He has an '04 F, it should have the needle with multiple grooves.  '89-'00 need shims/washers (3mm dia. by .5mm thickness).

No worries, I'd do the same if they were mine.  Thanks anyways!
