I would....but only under 3 conditions....
1. Having $100
2. Being able to fix whatever is wrong with it (affording the repairs)
3. Living about 2900 miles closer to Florida
Go ahead and do it as long as you have some space in your garage. It's only $100. Same price as a pair of shoes. You can fix it and sell it for twice what you paid+cost of repairs up to $500. Investigate that title issue.
And if you can't fix it, part it out for more than $100 and get paid for labour. :thumb:
Surprisingly ... Ok not so surprisingly ... you'd prolly not have that many takers for much of it.
The dash, tank and misc you'd sell rather quick, the rest ... yea it will sit around forever like my welders brothers parted out Virago ... AKA 90% is still there. I bought some stuff off it, but the rest ... bleh ...
Cool.
Srinath.
sounded to me like the delivery charge was $100.
Yeah..it looks as though bike = $150.00 and delivery = another $100.00....
I don't think I would Touch it. #1 No title #2 those Handle Bars #3 Yamaha 4 Stroke. The only way I would buy it is if I could Make some money on it parting it out. Yamaha's are OK (Other than Subpar Materials) but I just don't care for that type of Bike.It can be Titled but will cost another $100-$150 to get a Clear title for it.

These. The most dangerous shoe ever made. I severly twisted my ankle running in those nightmares. Don't ever buy them. Would be nice if they had auto laces and twin turbo. I can't run in payless shoes. They hurt the heck out of my feet. I do buy boots from payless to work in. Just gotta put some aftermarket insoles in.

Also got these for $100 shipped on ebay. Had them for a couple of months. Don't look bad with jeans if you gotta walk around in them. Most folks don't even know they're race boots even tho they have the big toe slider. So far I like them. Don't know how long they'll last tho. I don't trust the strap to hold up more that a few more months. I use them every day.
florsheim. $100
the shoes I currently wear the most.

$325.
try to negotiate a little further. $75 and you'll both be happy. would make a nice cafe racer project.
I would buy just about any bike for $100. :thumb: Why the hell not
Nope, I wouldn't. Too much work. And, I know this bike, and I know Yamahas; if I had the time, space, and the money - yes. The engine covers are going to need to be polished, tires replaced, carbs polished, cleaned, fluids changed (fork, brake, engine)...more work than it's worth; even for a $100.
At some point, if you buy that, you'll end up giving somebody money to haul it off for you.

It would be a learning experience...learning how to spend lots of money...fix stuffs...etc etc... :thumb:

+1
Scratch, you know I love ya and your probably right, but in my case this would be another project I can tinker with for some years. maybe chop it up or something.
I grew up learning mechanics skills on worthless lost causes....my son will too.

too much work? thats what I did for my 99' GS and I paid $2500 back then.
I would buy any bike for $100, especially if it is nearly 90% there.
The worst you can face is a complete engine rebuild. don't want to do it? then sell the bike for $100.
It would be an excellent bike to own when you're all finished restoring it. Don't chop it, it appreciated more as a whole - the engineer who designed this bike, and I mean this model specifically, made this a work of art; look at the lines of the tank and how they flow to the seat, past the seat, down to the swingarm pivot. Trace the arc from the pivot, up the frame, to the grabrail, around the rear fender and realize that it follows the rear tire perfectly. This is the most perfect example of Japanese engineering of beauty and form and function. It is, in my opionion, the most beautiful bike inequitable.
