To begin with, I got a 500 dollar part from e-bay for about 100 bucks. It was pretty sweet.
Well, it's an OEM, NOS cowl for a GS500E... chin spoiler if you will. Now I was sooo worried about mounting hardware and figuring out what I was gonna do because the seller had said that there was NO hardware included.
Well, I get the box today and shake it and what do I hear "chingalingaling"... hardware!
I was sooo psyched. Not only is it a brand new cowl (even though it's red and I'll have to get it painted). But the OEM hardware is included!

Oh OK, when stuff like this happens you have to pay tax to the buddha.
Now on top of that, you're running a red cowl on a black bike. There is an additional red to black surcharge.
PM me for details.
Cool.
Buddha.
Hah.. too late, 2nd coat of black just went on about 15 minutes ago.. However I will forward you the .02cents per bracket.
(I'm still giddy :icon_lol:)
Dan
Very nice! You're one lucky guy!
Very cool, I always wanted one but couldnt part w/ the $$$
Mine was an Ebay steal too. $20 nabbed the basket case that resides on my bike

A little fiberglass and a well done (if I do say so myself) garage paintjob, and the end result is pictured above. :thumb:
Didn't get an extra clamp by any chance did ya? :icon_lol:

That looks damn good! I was actually thinking of doing the same stripe idea with the same dark gray that's in my decals on my bike!
Clear coats go on tomorrow (hopefully if it doesn't rain). She's all wet-sanded and ready to go!
Dan
Who makes it?
That actually looks like the same red as on my FZ, and I've been looking for a deal on a chin fairing on it. Damned if I'm going to pay top dollar for a chunk of plastic.
So, got her painted up nice and installed, more pics in daylight to come... too much reflection of garage floor.

Looks Sweet! A gray stripe would be the business.
Yeah, that looks bad asss.
:thumb:
 Looks good.
You've motivated me to install mine. Gotta paint it and missing a bracket.
If anyone's has just 1 bracket, please give me a shout.
Very cool! I like the way that turned out a lot.
Thanks a lot guys!
At first I was kinda nervous because the point at the front aimed so far downward. I almost wanted to flip the rear brackets to see if I could aim it up more, but I really like how sharp it looks now...
That plus the SV shock really gives it that aggressive stance.
Dan
The one I have is the one that Suzuki dealers stocked back in the day. I've been searching around for this list of chin-spoilers that someone had on here a while ago... it brought you to a link that had all these universal belly pans and fairings and stuff... the first one in the list of chin spoilers is the one that Suzuki had for the GS500E... Damn if I can remember the name though.. maybe someone on here knows where that link is...
Dan
I FOUND IT!!!!
It's a GIMBLE chin spoiler.

what's the reason for this? if you want fairings, get an F model, if you want nekid, get an E model. geez, these half on half off stuff is just... damn. make up your mind.
Are we bored? Jserio, Shoulda gripped about that like seven months ago LOL.
Besides fairings are the best!
Mary
I love the look of a chin fairing on a naked bike.
