The pants are comfy but do get somewhat hot on the warm days.
I like my GS500. It does have some buzzing at higher revs but still it is a great bike. It also handles very well since it is so light.
I will consider a new bike for next season. I am leaning towards Monster 696 for my next bike. (here it is at the bike show from last Dec)

That style shirt is a staple of my wardrobe. I actually own 3 of the Charlie Sheen collection :icon_rolleyes: (probably gonna get a few more this week :icon_rolleyes: ) They're great shirts, casual, versatile and yet just dignified enough you can hit the town or a nice restaurant.

That red and black maxim - and I sold it ~ 2 years ago, and it came back on the market a few weeks ago for a paltry 900 bones. I called in 2 days of that ad and it was gone. But yes he did confirm it was bought in charlotte from a guy in highland creek, and he had a couple of extra black side covers ... so yes it was mine. 900 bones, I'd have paid more than ask ...
That 650 twin, I sold it to this Idiot who trying to diagnose an alternator - removed the engine from the frame and split it. Then he scrapped it. Yes yes the GR's similar bike with a lot cleaner everything and does everythign better ... but dammit its not as fun as that xs. Its like an ugly girl who's real ... easy. Yea ... after going down on gravel at a fairly slow speed...I had on all my gear and a pair of jeans... the only thing that I scrapped was my knee!!! Now I own textile pants with knee armour!!
That pic was my friends' idea. I had already taken off all my gear and and my feet were getting sweaty :(

So all about the boots only piece of gear I didn't have on that day was in a hurry!

Well, I'm very glad my six weeks of crutches were not in vain! I'd say even a year later it is still not 100% in the wet rainy weather it will hurt and occasionaly lose stability!

HMMMM I'm kinda iffy about that gear, Helmet and gloves are fine but If the jacket/pants are not leather than they will not hold up in a crash and slide. but I cant talk I wear my pants I'm wearing that day and usually my leather vest and gloves /helmet and my moto GP Timberland boots. So my hands head and feet are saved in a crash everything else not so much. nice bike tho, Is that a scooter in front of yah :flipoff:.
Those pants :nono: if you go skidding oh they will last about .4 seconds then your skin will last about 2 seconds then the lateral part of your hip will start grinding! Not Good at all!
If you want to prevent the black marks from the clutch on your shoe they have something called shoe skins that wrap around that spot to protect it!

There are some days when yup it's the jeans instead of the pants. One day was out riding all day in August lost seven pounds in water ended up in ER with severe dehydration! So, yeah I hear ya!

Why not do both? red route makes some nice riding jeans with pockets for knee armor and hip armor. with the little half zip on the back for your jacket. Kevlar lining in high priority places as well. They are my pant of choice due to my riding environment. Alot of red lights.

I "do" need a back up helmet hmmmm. One of those Element Bluetooth helmets or the HJC blue carbon fiber helmet :bowdown:. You can never have tooo much gear! Hey ryde if you need an extra pair of gloves I wear a small in mens and on New Enough they have a pair of Army gloves for $7 they are very nice. Turned out to be $13 with shipping. Almost as good as my $50 Fox Bomber gloves!

There are some very good and well meaning folks on this site that would have chastised you if the photo was of you on your motorcycle while wearing a full suit of medieval armor. Probably would have claimed that it had insufficient puncture strength or something. While I condone the full use of safety gear, only
you can determine your risk tolerance.
Personally, I wear a crapload of gear when I ride because that pavement is moving awfully fast beneath me and the roads are full of idiot drivers...but...if I decide to go out one day wearing only a pair of swim trunks and a pith helmet no amount of self appointed nannies would change my mind.
For the record, I look awesome in a pith helmet...

(i was just a bit spoiled by the fact that my step-mom treats my dad like a king and does most everything) now, she doesn't do it because he demands it, she does it because she feels thats what her role in their marriage is. and i must say, they have a wonderful marriage and she's an awesome lady. i'd almost trade her to be my "real mom" sometimes.

OK this is my attempt to get the thread back on track. Me yes Me GF "Leather" is on my bike. I am trying to get her to ride with me soon. Not 2up but on her own bike. We'll see. She used to be a tom boy riding dirt bikes and all so I know she has it in her to do but she became a girly girl kind of like toogoofy and is now scared to ride. I'll keep pushing her heck she was even a good sport and let me take this!

Its a piece of garbage yamaha FZ6R ... and the reasn it is splattered in pink and marketed to women, is that they cant tell a steel POS frame from alumimum and the frame has so poor finish, they had to put wrinkle finish on it to not make it look like someone spit on it while welding.
Its working ... and they have been able to move this garbage in spades.

Oddly enough, I've seen a lot of men on this travesty locally (but on the more 'manly' colored ones - you know, blue, yellow, black).
Yamaha isn't run by dumb folk. They saw that Kawasaki could sell a POS wrapped in a pretty fairing for a chunk of change, and did the same with a bigger engine.

TBH the Gladius looked sooo much worse than FZ6R. Admittingly, I didn't sit down and comb over it. Why because I'm not in they buying realm. I still have a long time with Flick. If I was getting a bike I would check review after review for a couple of weeks. Check out the forums for that particular bike to see what people always seem to be fixing. See how long the technology has been around. Get an idea from CL etc on what the going price is and go from there. I'm not going to just walk into a dealer fall in love with the bike and take flick home. oops slip of the tongue there. I did see flick online did some reviews but when I got there his cute little bug antenna and his sad demeanor said "oh PUHLEASE take me home" then my friend named him flick and how can you not take something home after naming him!
My next bike will be a pink hayabusa! :bs:

FZ6R is wrapped in plastic. It is fuuuuuugllllllyyyyyyy under all that. And wrinkle finish WTF ...
The gladius actually is not 1/2 bad, I should admit suzuki can build a trellis frame with the best of them. Duc, aprilia, KTM - who ever ... zook is up there ... The gladius has a sheitteitty name and a buch of fugly and $$$$ plastic covers on the frame. The biggest gripe I got with the gladius is, they took the aluminum frame SV and put it in that steel frame.
Sorry suzuki, aluminum trellis is far far cooler than a steel trellis. That is it, no amount of ugly plastic covers gonna get you over that one.
And oh yea, I will now admit it ... I have an Sv1K and I would be licking it ... if it was remotely non toxic ... cadminum plated aluminum ... sorry not my flavor.

I had a close up look at the FZ6R. While it is not the bike I would choose, it did not look too bad - especially for the price. I thought it offers decent value and a good variety of color and standard features for a $6000 bike.
For me....I am still aiming for my DUC 696 for next season unless something else is realeased for 2010 that catches my interest.

Hmm, I hear you about the DUCs; they look so sick. I'm gonna have to say I prefer the look of the 695 over that of the 696 though. Just my two cents.
