05/16/2013: I have another 20 in stock
They're here!
Nice, thick stainless steel. This is the raw material - you can buff it to a high gloss, rub it for a dull finish, run over it with 400 grit for a matt finish or leave as is.
The stainless steel is high grade - the same grade as used for stuff you eat off of.
These are the same height as stock so those with Airbrush's rear hugger: just drill your two holes and you're ready to go. The fit is the same (I have his huggers on all my bikes so I made sure of that :icon_lol: )
(You may see it on ebay - I charge more on ebay. GStwin'rs get it cheaper here!)
$30 +$15 p&h, $25 p&h to Canada. Outside North America $35 postage. Multiple orders get discount on shipping.
You may pat through my paypal: patrickpaypal at cdesoftware dot com
Include your address and what it is for in your paypal payment.

Let me know when you finalize the price, Kay and I may be interested. Thanks :thumb:
-Jessie
My friend in the bowling business that makes automatic scoring systems. He was going to make rear seat cowlings last year - but no one showed any interest.
I know people are interested in the chain guards because of the comments I've had on mine. So I know these should sellout fast.
I just spoke with him before I made the first posting. He's finishing the final drawing now. Once I approve the design, I'll also have exact cost and can take orders. He will make an initial run of 10 (more if enough orders). I'm hoping next week I'll have 10 in hand.
polished only?
Right now.
I MIGHT have him do a few with black powder since Suzi has a black frame.
What were you interested in?
just wondering right now, will probably get a polished one. i have the black "GS" one, but wouldn't mind having one that had the full "gs500" on it
As bare stainless steel, it would take paint very well. I'll ask about powder when I approve the design next week.
THE man!
I am Def. interested in one!
unpainted tho :thumb:
I assume bare would be cheaper, right?
Right. They will be clean, bare stainless steel. I will have to ask the price for powder coating.
You can polish or dull to suit your needs. Paint of you want or just clear coat so it stays cleaner.
powder coating aluminium isnt hard. clean it and heat it up to 400 to let it outgas first and then hit it with the powder and cook it.
I know its easy. Just how much he would charge to do it. Better if 10 were coated at the same time. Setup is the time - get out gun, powder, etc.
Its just what he'd charge to add that on. If he was doing some other work in black, then probably not much at all because he'd already be set up for it.
I have a powder coat system - haven't used it yet. One of the new toys for the bike cave I haven't used yet. I might try a set of OEM clip-ons and see how they come out. Got Katana front end parts I could experiment on.
I just bought 2lbs of high gloss black for about $14 two weeks ago
Count me in whenever these become available.
I would be interested in one of these.
I would be interested in one also? Shipping cost to Minnesota? Would like a powder coat.
I'm interested :) Any chance you'd post to Australia?
I would be interested as well.... preferably powder coated depending on what the prices would be.
I'm definitely interested, but I'll wait to purchase it with the belly pan that I'll inevitably be buying from so you can combine shipping.
I would be interested also. Took me a while to decide ifi like and i think i do. :D
I think you'll need more than 10
-Jessie
Going for 20 now.
I'll be talking with him tomorrow and see what extra a powder coat would be.
I prefer to powder coat things myself so I would only be interested in a bare metal one.
I'd be inclined to go for black but would like to see how the plain works on your black frame addy.
Michael
I'm in but I would really prefer one I can polish up.
-Tony
I'm interested in black powder coated one. Let us know when prices are finalized! :thumb:
Any way to do a couple without the lettering? I'd prolly take 2.
I'd take one as well. Bare for now as I may coat some other parts and include this (or not).
Thanks
Waiting for a call with drawing and pricing.
As soon as I get it, I'll post it then we can start taking orders.
sounds good to me
I'll have pricing tomorrow.
I should have a 1st run in a couple days and will photograph it on my bike then start taking orders.
They'll be shipped directly from my guy in Long Beach that's making them. I think 3/32 or 1/8" aluminum - so pretty hefty. Good grade aluminum, not cheap soft stuff.
Should be a flat rate for shipping no matter how many you get.
Later......
any idea whether he'll be able to do a couple w/o the lettering?
I'll see, but I think we will first make 20 with the GS500 lettering.
I am in for one if there is still a spot available.
My guy had a bus. trip so he's supposed to get me the final drawing any day now.
Quote from: adidasguy on November 04, 2011, 01:33:54 PM
I've got them in the works now. Aluminum chain guards that say GS500. They are similar to the one on Junior though a little longer and details just a little different (so no copyright issues - if any - play it safe).
I'll have prices in a day or so. I'm doing a run of 10 to start. First come first served. Probably about $25-$35. Cheaper than buying from Europe.
This not related to the thread but I noticed your rear foot pegs in the pic and was wondering where you got them?
Passenger pegs: LSL
Driver pegs: Gimbel rear set
Here's the design. I'll have one on my bike in a few days. The prototype is being cut today then UPS'd to me.
By that time we will have prices for aluminum and stainless. Might very well go stainless steel.
Cool, look forward to seeing the finished product :thumb:
-Jessie
I'm looking forward to seeing the finished price :D This would be a sweet little upgrade
One thing I've been wondering tho.
First come first served.
That based on PMs when you post the final product and price.
or based on replies?
just curious as I dont wanna miss out, been wantin one of those since I first seen it on your bike.
I'm making 20 or more. It will be first $$$ first served, as we know some people promise but never pay or back out.
One is in UPS to me right now. I will have it Friday or Monday and put it on. Then we start the production run unless we need to make nay minor changes.
Lol... this whole time I've been waiting for the price and I actually read it 10 times.
I read it to say "$25-$35 cheaper than buying from Europe." Instead of "$25-$35. Cheaper than..."
My eye site must be going... That is a great deal and can't wait!! Appreciate you gents for going out of your way to supply stuff like this to the community. I'll definitely take whichever one is easiest to paint black (if its not already painted)
Cheers
Got the first one in. Just a couple tweeks and we're ready to go. I hope to have final price tomorrow and determine if the first run is aluminum or SS.
OK- we're going with stainless. (This sample is plain steel they cut out of some scrap.) Mounted it over existing one just for size and the photo. I have the rear hugger mounted to the chain guard so I didn't want to take it off for the photo. When the final ones come in, Suzi's chain guard will be replaced and the rear hugger re-mounted to it. Also heal guard swung out of the way as it hides the mounting screw for the chain guard.
A couple tweeks were done to the bottom edge of the mounting tabs. Here is the illustration. 20 will be made starting tomorrow in 3/16" thick stainless steel. I'll have price in the morning after their shop opens and they price it out.
Cool, thanks for the update :thumb:
Pm me when you get price if it between the 20-25. I'll get one for sure.
Please pm me as well with the price. It looks cool and as long as it still works with the rear hugger Im golden.
Thanks

$30 plus $15 P&H to USA. International ask for quote.
Same price for shipping if you order more than one.
Local people can pick it up in West Seattle and save on shipping.
They fit the same as OEM so those with rear huggers (including me) will simply have to drill the 2 holes for it and it will mount the same.
Smooth stainless steel You can polish it or dull it down or paint or powder coat. Use your existing chain guard screws or use different ones if you wish.
Payment through paypal.

Hey Adidasguy, Ofc its me! Anyways would you be willing to do a custom request? of course depending on the price on my end. Just wondering if I could get one that's stamped without any words like GS500 Maybe just cool cut out. No words. I like my GS500. But No one looks at the chain guard while your moving I just want a metal chain guard, cause the plastic/rubber defaults get to much road/chain crude on them and its hard to scrape off...

Looks good. Not sure if I would paint it. Looks interesting standing out in plain SS. Like a brand logo and accent point for the bike.
I like it too much as is to paint it.
If I want to tho, will just buy a 2nd one off ya to do it on :thumb:
Hi adidasguy,
They look great, man.
Do you still have one left that I might be able to buy?
Let me know and thanks,
Trwhouse :)
There are plenty left. My guy that makes them can make more if the first run gets sold out.
I was on ebay looking for some clip-ons and ran by this

Is this you Adidas or did some one steal you idea :icon_question:
Yep - that's me. On ebay I am selling them for more than to all my friends here on the GStwins board. :kiss3: Order here. Don't order through ebay 'cause you'll pay more.
That is the photo of it on Trey.
Sales here going well (none on ebay). Got an order for 3 today. If you want them as a gift for Christmas, order asap. It doesn't have to be a gift to a person. Bikes LOVE presents. Show your bike you love him/her/it on Christmas morning with a new chain guard! :thumb:
Addidas, just opened an early Christmas present from BaltimoreGS...a sexy new chain guard. Looks great, can't wait to put it on! :thumb:
The post title says stainless steel, but the text says aluminum. I figured it was just a typo...
but then, your avatar say stainless again ("Buy a Stainless Steel Chain Guard! Please?")
I'm confused :icon_confused:
They are stainless. Originally aluminum but my guy that makes them says SS is better.

Definitely better. They'll hold their luster longer for sure.
What grade of Stainless Steel are they?
I'll have to ask my guy. I know it is not el crapo stuff. He doesn't use crap. He has a think for quality and reputation. Does a lot of metal fabrication in the Long Beach CA area.

Thank you!
With all the Aussies on this site I would have thought for sure you would include a shipping price for us? What is it gonna cost to get one shipped down under? Cheers.
It would go for $25 or more if you want express service.
Order more than one to save on postage. I'll calculate postage when you do. Each extra isn't much more.

Sweet. I'm in Ipswich. It may be cheaper for us to combine than bundle with janx. We will have to figure whats cheapest.

Basic US costs: $30 + $15 as per initial post.
AUSIES: 5 chain guards would be like 6 pounds and $60 postage. That cuts it down to $12 per chain guard. Quite a savings if you put together a group order.
Hi, I would be interested in one!
I'm in Canada!

If any Australian deals are still on offer i'm certainly interested.....i'm in Adelaide.
I think the Ausies should all PM me as to the status. I have one paid order that also gets the rear set plates which arrived at my office to forward on.
Not sure what deals everyone is trying to put together.
I'm going to have 10 sets of the laser cut heel guards (like Suzi has) and I know one was wanting those. They should be here in 10 days. (Got an update from the UK.)
Mine is now on..
Thanks again adidasguy!

I want one, finally. However, you still doing the belly pans? Is that still going on? If so, how much? Id like to combine them to save on shipping. And a pic of the belly pan on a gs would make my world turn. Thanks man!

Not to clogg up the "What have you done to your bike thread", I'' ask it here.
They look very sharp. I saved that page for when I'm ready for them. Does the chain gunk clean up well from them?
Being stainless steel, they are easy to clean up and nothing will damage the metal.

I hit mine with some brake clean after a particularly nasty ride and it was good to go, by far the best "bling" for your bike! i get comments on it once in a while from other bikers and i gotta say, it's the first thing to catch my eye every time! well worth the investment
can we get a customized one? instead of gs500, i want it to say zephyr.

Not really.
I have a friend a couple states away make them for me. For economy, he does runs of 25. I can see if the cut outs can be customized next time he dos a run of 25. Computer controlled so maybe one can be different. Most of the time is the setup for materials and the bending & polishing. as you know, once set up it is easy to do a bunch. Making only one would cost the same as 25 due to the man hours to set up everything.
I want one that says I have way too much $$ and I am putting all of it into this GS ...
No ... waaaaa waaaaaaa ...
Cool.
Buddha.
Hey guys I'm in nsw on the central coast. Would any Aussies be interested in a bulk order!
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'm definitely interested! Do you have any left? If so, how many?
Also where do you ship from? (if you don't mind me asking)
I have a good stock. Do you want 5 or 10? Or just one?
It would be just one. I wish I had enough bikes to support 5-10 lol. If I am reading it right, it looks like $45 that's including S&H for the US?

Correct.
Alright, if you could put one aside for me that would be great! :icon_mrgreen:
I spent my bike money for the month already. I can pick it up sometime around the first week of next month :thumb:
I have a fresh supply so I think maybe 15 to 20 in stock at the moment.
You'll get one.
I now am excited for when I can place my order. Think it will go well with my bike
