Parting out a 2006 gs500f black. 17k miles on the motor. Pretty much all the parts are good except the seat and any body panels on the right side. Forks are good, tank is ok but has some light scratches. Runs great, motor has a little road rash on the right side. zip is 43055

What are you asking for the gauge set up?
-Jessie
mmm hows 45 plus shipping sound?
$50 shipped to 21212 work for you?
-Jessie
How much for the complete motor?
Those gauges should cost more - they have that rare blue cap!

Newark Ohio is E-NE of Columbus.
Working gauges should be $150-$250 for a set. $50 is a steal!
Interesting to part it out and not offer the whole bike. No photos of while bike. Why part out a bike that runs "awsome"?

It ran as "awesome" as he did when he stole it. I'm throwing the red star here.. :rstar:
sucks for who ever he stole it from, I shall call this stolen, until proof its owned by him. I bet you he wont come back after reading my rants about it being stolen cause he knows he's busted.

dude please quit assuming and spreading shaZam! all over other people threads, leave that for you own threads!
if this kid does show up and turn out to be a genuine twinner.. how is that going to reflect on you?? and your a reg member??? if it turns out he doesn't reply, nothing new there. plenty of noobs sign up list a part out/FS thread and never return.
oh and his reflection not being in the tank photo is understandable, its easier to show the damage/scratches w/o a big reflection of you face in it!
his face was caught in the gauges photo- QUICK run it through facial recognition, arrest this guy and give the 'stolen' bike back to its owner!!!! :bs:
/early morning rant
Truth be told im just done with the thing. I still owe about 1500 to the bank on it. With the cosmetic damage and being wintertime i havent been able to sell the whole thing for what i owe so i figured id part it out and pay down what i can. That being said if a moderator would like to see a copy of my license and the bike registration id be more than happy to oblige. Its always nice to have this stuff go to people who are interested enough in them to be in a forum.
I already said id do 45 plus shipping on the guages to jessie so i still will.
I am offering any part on the bike.
I am thinking 500 for the motor. never shipped anything that big though so ill ship by whatever method the buyer can instruct me on.
Still interested, did you see what shipping to 21212 would be? And do you have paypal? Thanks
-Jessie
id probably just put it in a flat rate box i think the box theyd fit is something like 12 dollars so lets say 57 shipped.
btw i would actually like it if a forum moderator would look at a copy of the reg, my id and a pic of the bikes vin.
$57 works for me, do you have paypal?
hate to hear you're upside down on it sickboy.. hope parting out gets you as close to even as possible :thumb:
i'm interested in the lock set(seat, tank, and ignition locks) and keys. pm'd you
Thanks for explaining things.
You have to understand that a new poster parting out a running bike seems a but on the shady side.
Too bad I'm a fully stocked parts whore and don't need anything at the moment.
If the title is clean, a good frame with clean title can go for upwards to $500. Many people need a new frame to replace a damaged one - a clean title is key in doing that.
FYI: I am looking at a bike that has the title tied up in paperwork. Simply, guy (1st owner) sold bike. Buyer (2nd owner) transferred title. 2nd buyer sold bike to 3rd owner. During this, the bank released the lien and released title to first owner. 2nd owners title was voided when 3rd owner attempted to title it because original title released by bank was in CA, not WA where everyone is now. And no way to locate 1st owner. Soooooo....... when selling the frame, insure bank and everyone gets clean paperwork. Maybe have funds for frame in an escrow pending release of title. Just a suggestion.
frame probably wont go for a while yet since it does have a lien. after i part it im guessing ill still have the lien for a few months. im just trying to eliminate the payment as soon as i can.
how much maintenance did you do on that motor's 17k miles?
Also I'm reasonably sure I want the gas tank.
well for most of that time i was actually a mechanic at a honda powerstore so it got all of its maintenance on schedule. It is coming up on 18k maintenance though and none of thats been done. i cant personally vouch for anything but its oil change at 12k because my brother was riding it the last 8k since i was away with the army that year.

out of curiosity what do you mean by blue caps?
The little blue plastic cap for the high beam falls out a lot. So there is always a joke about the little blue cap and how rare they are when someone loses one. Probably the heat from the indicator bulb melts the glue or causes the plastic to shrink and fall off when you hit a bump. Only because the high beam would be the only indicator that can be on for a LONG period of time for heat to affect the plastic cap.
Things seem pretty legit. He sent me the VIN, drivers license and copy of the title.
If he was a thief, I do not believe he would have offered that information.
He does have the engine on ebay.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/2006-GS500F-GS500-Suzuki-engine-motor-/270904666316?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item3f132d28cc
He sent me his information (in confidence) because I have a high rating here. Armed forces on the license as mentioned.
Given that he volunteered that information, I would feel comfortable buying from him. Now to think if I need anything.....
I would be interested in the frame with a clear title if you ever get it
Got a picture of the entire bike or the condition of the fairings?
Ill get some whole pics and more shots (w damage detail) tomorrow. Most of the plastic is shot. Upper cowl is broken, right fairing is scratched and broken. Right tail cowl is broke, middle piece too. Left fairing has some light scratches. Left tail cowl is ok but decals are sunbleached. The mainstay is bent a little and one of the ears to the headlight is broke if i remember right from the last time i looked in there. Windscreen is yellowed.
basically everything functional is good. Some of the damaged parts I would give away if it was local. If anyone wants em and wants them shipped id charge something nominal to pack and ship em.
I need to focus on this other project for now, I'm getting ahead of myself. I've been wanting a rough gas tank to play with, but I need to make sure I finish the job at hand with the money I've got. Sorry for the false alarm.
I pm'd you. Please get back to me.
all plastic, tank and seat are sold. gauges are sold. dibs placed on the lock set.
frame and clear title ill have to address after the rest and see how far out i still am on paying off the beast.
Sickboy57 and his bike are the real deal. All indications that the bike are his are legit, he's a real nice guy and it was nice doing business with him.
As mentioned, he sent me on his own, copies of drivers license, VIN and bike registration. Also posted on ebay for the motor.
All looks fine.
Are the blinkers still available? What about the mirrors?
left mirror is good and available, right is toast. rear blinkers are good and available. the battery blocks are missing.
Got my gauges, legit seller. Even got a free shirt ;) (used as pacing material)
-Jessie
Curious are you parting out the engine or just the other shaZam! and selling the engine.. if so I might - need - a few parts. as it has come down to this..
id like to sell the engine whole and part the other stuff.

Cheers

damn.. alright.
As you take things apart, I'd go for a box of all the bolts, washers, nuts, rubber parts, bushings, cables, hoses, electricals, perches, etc. basically everything left over as a box-o-bolts. Maybe, as you get to the end, include some of the non-sold stuff for a package deal.
Don't toss anything away as you disassemble it. Throw in a box-o-stuff. I'll buy that.
no prob adidas

fenders front has those scratches back is cut so $20 each
rear wheel w/ rotor and tire $50
front wheel $25
Forks (good shape except some pitting up by triples outside of travel range, no leaks as of october ride) $75
rear master cylinder $20
full exhaust $45
rear footpegs $5 each
front pegs with brackets $15 each
Brake shield left and right $20
carbs and boots $150
motor $400
full triples w/bar mount $75
airbox free
shock w/linkage $40
swingarm $10
chain w/ sprockets $20 chain looks rough from when it sat but moves freely. it was a shiny brand new D.I.D. o-ring chain when i left last year. Figure with the sprocket set someone could get some use from these.
I'll take the clutch switch if you've still got it and it works.
Disregard.
Is the left mirror available, how much?
how much for front forks shipped to 55746? They are straght correct?
may be interested in exhaust, would u cut it tho? only need the can.
motor sold. yeah i can cut the exhaust for ya.
I have had a terrible experience with this forum for the most part so far. Accusations first, now I've sold the motor to a member through ebay. He came to pick it up locally, helped remove it and now wants the money back without bringing the motor back because he cant get the exhaust bolts out of it. I like to see this stuff used but for all the trouble i should have kept it. Im moving now and i think the rest will end up scrapped. I guess if anyone wants it locally they can have it for scrap prices, just make it easy I am done with all the inconveniences.

I can empathize with your troubles... but a little forward thinking always helps.
For example, when making an offer of this stuff "locally", it always helps to mention
Where You Are.
hate to hear about having trouble's with parting out. although dealing with buyers is part of it. make sure you give any and all info upfront and straight forward. if the buyer didn't know about the seized header bolts that is a major bit of info you should have told him. if you told him, its on him for buying(part of buying used parts)
hope the rest of the part out goes ok, if you do decide to continue.
@ philB - if you take some time to look for the info you would find it. in the first post of this thread he states his zip code..
Yeah locally would be newark ohio. Its been frustrating. The header bolts i had no idea about because i left it in condition to be able to run the motor for potential buyers. Halfway through pulling the motor he decided to go have lunch while i finished which was no problem. So when i got it out i tried em and they didnt seem to wanna go easy so i called him and told id just be cutting the exhaust off my cheapo allens were just flexing on it. He seemed to have no problem. I think what has happened is hes tried to drill them and damaged the head. I guess he does have to return it to get a refund but if it is returned damaged its gonna be a colossal headache. Oh well. Anyhow yeah ill be gettin rid of the rest at scrap rate as a whole or ill be taking it to scrap this weekend. I'll be off with the army on the 28th and when I come back I'll be in a new house with new furniture so hopefully i can get down to things the 100lb girlfriend can carry.
Just sent you money for the levers mate.
Sorry for the delay

If I'm too late it's cool If u want to cancel the transaction

Ah, damn. Well, don't give up on this site, it isnt normally this hetic, and we are very helpful when the shaZam! hits the fan.
Were here for you like that crazy uncle that has all the knowledge, that you avoid except when you need some information, and somehow the conversation turns into Europe, females, beer, and eventually the philosophical meaning of "WD40"\
yeah, we're him
Mate i nver heard back from you on if you posted the parts yet or not.
you were going to get me a tracking number etc

Run, run far away.
Seriously, READ the thread before you ask questions. Even if he did, you obviously don't want to buy from him.
Thank you. I just noticed that ;)
