I can“t believe!
give us some info on this... pictures specs maybe a dyno... for 300 bux most people will just go with a proven jardine so that they know it will at least increase power.
I could buy a stock Ninja 650 exhaust, and it would look better and probably sound better for 1/10th the cost of yours.
Sorry, just can't justify that kind of money for a square box. :nono:
or just slap a glasspack under there....$30

Or you could not post in a thread if you aren't going to be constructive. Jim is always helpful and has a lot of interesting projects like that last twin exhaust he made.
If you aren't interested in buying, move along.
Plus, you'd be into a stock ninja exhaust with time on a welder to get the header/collector so it'd be alot more than 1/10.
Good luck Jim :)
Servus could be used as goodbye too right? lol

sigh.... reread your post. Noone asked you if you could do it for a 1/10th of the price, noone asked you if you thought it was worth it.
How don't you see that as being disruptive?
Someone else may find value in what he has and likes it. What if someone wanted a box?

Good day.
im not trying to be a duck with my post.. but asking 300 for a untested unproven home made exhaust system is not exactly what I would call a deal... especially when there are NO details and a youtube video shot with a calculator...

Rude. Thats basically it. Your opinion is WORTHLESS in a For sale thread.
Alot of other forums don't allow people to post on the sale thread for exactly this reason.
Jim never asked anyone here if you thought it was worth it. He posted a part for sale and here come the flames from people who aren't even interested in purchasing it.
"Jim can fight his own battles" - What? So you admit you weren't being constructive and just flaming his FS thread. Cool, at least we are on the same page that you didn't post on this thread about the exhaust at all, but rather your opinion. Which, I mentioned before, is worthless in a for sale thread.

You sir, are the one being rude. No one asked for my opinion? The same can be said of you, as I certainly didn't ask for it.
By him posting a thread, it was made open for anyone's thoughts to freely be posted in response. Whether you like it or not. Frankly, I couldn't care less. Apparently it needs to be said again, if you don't like my opinion then
skip my posts.
By stating that Jim could "fight his own battles", I was alluding to the fact that
if he had an issue with my response, then he could handle it himself. I'm certain he doesn't need you "policing" for him.
Foolish? I said "according to you", as I have no prior experience with him myself. I'm not one to assume about people, and it's clear that you are. I am neither rude, nor foolish.
And yes, I have seen several of his projects while performing various searches of the forum. They appear to be quality work, but again, I have no experience with him, so I left the opinion open for someone who does.
That said, Nicky, I apologize if I've offended you. I had no intention of being rude, and was simply posting my opinion (worthless though it may be).
Jim, I'm getting off your thread now. Best of luck in the sale. :thumb: Based on what I've seen of you're prior work, I'm certain it is excellent quality. Hopefully someone comes along with the funds and takes it off your hands.

I don't care if you like what I say, it should be said because I'm pointing out that your being rude only for the purpose of expressing an opinion noone asked for ON A FOR SALE THREAD.
This website is an online community, not a regular public general talk forum. Jim has been a member since 2003, has posted regularly about his cool projects and helped alot of people. I choose to treat people who contribute regularly and are civil to others with respect they deserve, not shaZam! all over their threads when they are trying to make a sale.
Would you walk up to Jim when he was speaking to a customer in real life and express your opinion while he is trying to close a sale? No, of course not, because no person in their right mind would interrupt someone conducting a business transaction involving two consensual parties.
But what did you do on this thread? Exactly that. Any potential buyer that wanted the exhaust that isn't technically savvy now thinks that according to you, he can find a Ninja exhaust and have it on for "1/10th of the price".
So instead of contacting Jim, that person is now shopping for a Ninja exhaust that may not even work as well as Jim's does or they may not even be able to install.
So yea, you are being rude and totally out of line posting a personal opinion on a thread that doesn't ask for it.
I attempted to save the thread for the Jim with that first post but its done now. Anyone reading this probably already forgot about the exhaust.
Good job.
And your not offending me, this is just about being civil.
Just think if you'd want someone to do that to your thread. I wouldn't.
I certainly haven't ever walked into a thread and said "THATS NOT WORTH BUYING". (only the EFI thread I said that wasn't worth building lol)
Maybe its not to me, but hey, I can't speak for everyone. Posting negative comments on a thread that doesn't even ask for them does nothing for the OP or the potential buyer.
The bottom line is don't post in a public forum, where people are more than welcome to voice their opinions, if you don't want any negative feedback.
I think you need to slow down, Nicky. The point he was trying to make was that it would be cheaper and possibly more cosmetically appealing to put a Ninja exhaust on it. You chose to overreact to his honest opinion. That sir, is on you.

I wouldn't applaud me for making people forget about the initial topic, as you played just as large a part in it.
I understand where you're coming from, but that doesn't change the fact that I'm still entitled to post my opinion freely on any thread I choose to.
It was not my intention to lead people into believing that they could purchase and install a Ninja 650 exhaust for that little. Just a reminder that there are other options out there.
I was, in fact, interested in underengine exhaust when I first came to this thread. In fact, I recently started a thread about just that. However, after seeing the price, I was turned away. I cannot justify spending that much on an exhaust that so little information was provided about. You said yourself that you'd have to have time on a welder to the header/collector. How do you know that you wouldn't have to do the same for this exhaust? :dunno_black: He doesn't state what is included in it.
Jim, could you provide some details about the exhaust?

You guys are being completely out of line. You want a public forum? Go to yahoo answers.
This is a bike forum. Public? Sure, anyone can sign up. But who is signing up here mostly. Bike enthusiasts, owners. People you are supposed to converse and talk with.
Show a little class. People act like such knobs on the internet than they normally would in real life.
This wouldn't even be an issue if we are all standing around together in a parking lot at a bike meet. Why should we treat each other differently just because we are sitting behind a computer?
Just please both of you answer two questions and I will shut up.
Can you make a similar exhaust for a 1/10th of the price as originally stated, factoring in your time as labor and materials?
Does the title of this thread in any way suggest asking for an OPINION on different under engine exhaust systems?
There are many a thread in the for sale area when someone posted questioning the product and its condition, usefulness, and price. This isn't fleabay...

just watched your video. and i am impressed. idk about $300 impressed but got to ask, what thickness is hte metal on the exhaust can?/ cause it looks like youve maybe 3" of clearance beterrn it and the ground. a speedbump would damage this. if the metal is fairly thick then this wont be an issue.
Danke

The greeting evolved from the commoners' greeting (said to lords) servus humillimus (Domine spectabilis), meaning your humble servant, my noble Lord. No subservience is implied in modern use."

Thats what I'm talking about. Tough guys behind computer keyboards...
Not once did you answer my question. Your dumb "Jim can fight his own battles" - is absolute irrelevant to each and every single point I made.
But hey, lets not let the truth or civility get in the way of how you want to act right?
I mean after all, as long as people can post dumb, uneducated, uninformed suggestion of just "building it for a 1/10 of the price" is heard forget anyone else that may take that WRONG information and run with it.
The only argument you have is "who made you sheriff".
Really?
I think you guys missed the point of these forums. Its to be a sounding board and resource for learning about out bikes, for those who are new and experienced.
For anyone new reading that thread that is new to bikes, you just fed them the wrong info, ALL UNDER THE GUISE OF YOUR OPINION.
You know whats a fact? That you can't build the same box for 1/10th of the PRICE.
THAT IS FACT. Stop pretending your guys are doing something other than being d!cks about needing to spew your WRONG opinions.
Whether or not you think my conduct is correct is debatable, what is a fact is that I originally corrected someone and he still claims that just because its his opinion, he is right.

Just stop. Numerous others have now joined in and explained to you how a forum works.
If you don't like it, then don't read it.My initial post of "1/10th" may have been a slight exaggeration, but it wasn't intended to be taken literally, as you have. (Also, I never said you could build the
same box for that price, just purchase a pre-existing one)
"Whether or not you think my conduct is correct is debatable, what is a fact is that I originally corrected someone and he still claims that just because its his opinion, he is right." Corrected me about

The 1/10th, that no one here but you took literally? Or my right to post on this thread, which obviously angers you?
You've tried to twist my words. You've tried to bash me. You've made assumptions about me which no factual basis. And everytime you've come out looking like a self-righteous tool. Seriously,

Here's an illustration for what you're doing, moron...

Shut up already.
Servus,
so offered to exhaust the following:
- 2 mm VA-sheet
- inside a jarring
- Ignition coil must be done
- Exhaustdampig in connection with the carburettor
because here the questions, why is it so expensive, it is a one-off piece.
For those who prefer an inappropriate damper wants to drive a different brand, please. :flipoff: :flipoff: :flipoff:
There are more pictures tomorrow.
