After the test run, fairings still off:

Where is the oil coming from? I figure it's coming from around the bolts but there is oil on the head of them as well which doesn't seem right if the oil is coming from under them.

I've never noticed those bolts. But I'd say clean it up run it for a bit and see if and where it comes back.

Those are the cam chain tensioner bolts.

Regardless - clean it up and check after a good ride. Maybe the bolts need snugged down?

I have had a few slight pesky leaks like that on my 09. Always due to bolts that have worked their way out.

If those are tensioner bolts, would tightening them down adjust the tension on the chain? Or are they just holding the tensioner on the inside of the head?

Hmmm...not sure on that one.  While others weigh-in on the topic, I'd clean the area with solvent/WD40/Brakecleen and see where the oil is coming from.

Wouldn't they be the guide bolts? As the tensioner is that thing below.

Slip is correct I believe.

So...can they be tightened down? Is there a copper washer or gasket under them that could be replaced?

There is a gasket.  Part number 6 and 7 are the bolt and gasket.

I checked another site to make sure, and it says there are 2 of these, which is consistent with your picture.
