I know I'm not the only one that Patrick did really nice thing for so if you don't mind telling your story on how Addy helped in your gs500 life or life in general post them up here. Maybe a family member will cruise by and see what an impact he had on this site. I'm gonna post the one I put on the General Section as it was the most memorable for me.
The last time Patrick came to Orlando I took him to everyone of the Adidas outlets here about 7 stores! At the last one he told me to pick out a pair of shoes since I needed a new pair for work. I went for the cheapest ones but he wouldn't let me get those. "Get the ones you need" he said $85 later I had a great pair of work shoes. What I didn't know and didn't find out until he had left is he put a hundred dollar bill in one of the shoes as a thank you for the escort. That help me get my medication for my heart that month.

Patrick got this pathetic postwhore back online in 2010. wed talked before that point, he would talk to me when I was down, and would make contact with me when I wasn't heard from in a while. now that he is gone I honestly do not know what to do. I have to try and live for him. he wouldn't ask for thast, but he would appreciate it. and I will try my best. he is a gem among the world he will be sorely missed. he leaves a set of shoes no one can ever fill. that is what is hurting me. he is all I could think about at times. May he rest in peace. may those he touched may they live for him. May those he almost touched, may they realize what is now missing, and do their best to be like him. may those he did not touch, may they find a shining example of humanity such as Patrick, may they try to live their lives likewise.
Sincerely
Aaron
Maybe not a story in the typical sense but --
Cleaning out the crap dorm room before I moved into my apartment, I came across the card he had sent me a cluster indicator in (free of charge of course) that had his two cats on it. Was tempted to keep it but I figured "nah, I'll probably end up with another sooner or later anyways". Obviously at this point I wish I had held onto it.
Patrick has sent me a number of parts over the two years I have been a member here. Each time he sent me something, he sent a little something extra, and something 'personalized'... After reading Badot's post, I recalled that I have kept all the packaging and bits for anything Ive bought for my bike... and that's probably just because I haven't moved since owning my bike, and I keep it organized enough so that my fiancé doesn't complain ;)
So out in the garage I looked through my GS500 parts boxes - a particularly noteworthy one from Patrick was in my 'fuel and mixture' box, I have a spare set of carbs and a carb sync tool from him. The something extra in this package happened to be a nice set of carb clamps with screws - never asked for em, but he always threw in something extra, and it was always appreciated. The 'personalized' bit in this package, he sent a post card of two of his bikes junior and pheonix with a view of the waterfront, and a couple of his awesome gs500 stamps. The stamps he sent me were because the last time I had commented on the ones he used when he sent me a left front peg... I went ahead collected these little bits and put them with my insurance and registration documents that are always with me when I ride. They will ride with me even if I were to move on from my GS500.

I met Patrick in 2013. I had just turned 30 and I bought a bike for myself before I became "too old". I went online to get clues on how to fix this bike and LUCKILY for me Patrick was nearby and offered his help.
I drove the 30 minutes hauling my bike on my truck because it wouldn't even start up. He GAVE me a tank, chain guard, heel guard, numerous bolts, screws and some oil and gas to start her up. At this point I had barely met the man. I didn't even know his last name but he was so generous. So much so I had to ask him to stop haha. I dedicated most of the rest of the year, until it got too cold, into fixing that bike. I came back to finish it feb-march. Without him it would never have happened. He guided me EVERY step. To the point where I know it was him fixing the bike and I was just there for the tutorial.
Finally finished the bike about two weeks ago and he asks me to come along on a ride. I had scheduled that day, sunday, to spend time with my GF since all of my free time was taken up by the motorcycle repair. After turning him down twice, I finally asked the GF for one more favor of letting me ride with Patrick. Little did I know it was the last time I would ride with him. I had the biggest smile on my face and after we were done he sent me a text. "Congratulations on a job well done." NO, my friend. In hindsight thank you for helping me.
I really appreciate what you taught me and I hope I can help someone one day as much as you helped countless others. You will NEVER be forgotten.
btw gorilla he did want you to have that torch kit I was sending his way. and the regulators too. as soon as I get the brace thing up and running, ill get that taken care. of. I loved the guy, im sorry I cannot read these. they are almost too much to bear. he was, is and always will be FAR ABOVE THE REST. rip MY DEAR FRIEND. rip
My story... the best was the time cbr pissed him off royally. He was crazed. I had to talk him off the ledge. Don't mess with him and his cats.

LOL yup. I got him cross once. cannot remember what I did exactly. but that's neither here nor there. Anyhoo it looks like he didn't take that trip to Oregon on the 650. I found the pm it was sent on the 24th. :( was supposed to be for mamas birthday.
Sorry I realized it had brothers address on it. I don't have permission to post route. I didn't ask. but in hindsight, I did realize ive got his brgothers address, I can write him and mama. just don't know his name lol . we never talked about it. even when doing that work for brother, ( overhauling fathers watch) I never did ask. just asked questions to him via Patrick
John my friend I remember that night. took me a while to calm him down via text and other ways. between you doing it and I, still took forever. he was NOT a happy camper. calling him enraged I think would be an understatement.
WOW ive got to step away for a few. THis is literally driving me crazy. grief and all. I have to do something. this isn't good guys. will be in touch with the brace updates. ....... Im sorry. Patrick, love you man, you wer ande still are an inspiration to us all. I hope one day to be at least 1 tenth the man you were. you set an example of how people should be. I try to live by your example.
cant stay away :s just need to blow the crazy fuse and move forward :). there are times ( im sure we all have a few. well those that knew him well anyways, that times he would call or make contact with you first :) , without you having to do anything or initiate the conversation. and like Patrick it was always good :). I seriously do have pity on those that would purposely piss him off. I do miss the random phone calls or even text messages though. kinda was the highlight of my day.

I miss the random messages he would send me for no reason but to give me a laugh or put me onto some parts he found.
agreed. got a text about the new backfire moto, he said, rain, beer, bikes, beer, friends, beer, oh did I mention beer?
yama..his brothers name is Mike. I am not even sure of those parts he had in mind for me. Haha i am not surprised he would literally surprise me with parts like that. What a guy!

Mary, can you put a bigger pic - I presume that is you and adidasguy ?
If not, ignore my request, I'm going blind in my old age.
I think I only had 1-2 PM's with the man, but quantity isn't always reflective of quality ...
Miss him bad, and I wish we never have to lose one of us to the eternal bliss again.
I guess god needed some help with his GS or maybe bowling software ... or he just needed a good man to do outreach ...
Can someone make a drawing - I cant draw worth a nickel ... but draw a likeness of Adidas, and a version of god (your choice of what god looks like) on a GS ...
Or - Heck, draw them in a cool convertible car ...
I'll make it my avatar.
My old avatar is crap anyway, I have not made those bars in 10 years.
Cool.

That was
my bad. He was blazing hot (https://encrypted-tbn2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRZLZzi59KJt6qrm3tPrCimjfuSdliUbUCb3xt9eHirNUbXkk7DXQ) on that one though. I guess I didn't think too much before I posted those Vietnamese entrees. I apologized and he didn't run me into the ground for it.
One of my fav's was when Mister grilled him on the picture challenge over a technicality. He went round and round and said he was going to quit playing. haha He came back a couple days later and all was good again.
One time, he bought a petcock from me unknowingly on ebay, and I sent him some gloves for the hell of it. Wrote 'try these addy!' on a little note. He messaged me back saying that obviously I knew who he was but
how did I know. heheh

I have the pic you are asking about.
If Mary says it is ok I will post it here?
I remember this picture :)
I'll share a story about Adidas.
Patrick has helped me out with parts numerous times. The difference between myself and the vast majority of members here is that I don't have a GS500, so I can't say EXACTLY what I need. The last request for parts were a whole bunch of miscellaneous small stuff (cables, hand controls, front end parts, master cylinders, etc, etc, etc.....). When I have him the list, I told him "Just throw it all in a box and send it to me. I'll figure out what I need, pay for that + shipping, and send back what I don't use." Sure enough that's what happened - I got a big box of all kinds of parts for my GS450. After working here and there over the winter on different things I got my project done and forgot all about paying Patrick and sending back all those extra parts. One day while cleaning up my garage I saw the box that said "Return these to Adidas!" and thought to myself "F***! How could I have forgotten about this?!"
So I ended up sending Patrick a pm with my sincerest apologies, and promising to go above and beyond to make it right. His response? "You're another one of the good guys, so I wasn't worried about it." I ended up paying for the parts I kept, shipping the ones I didn't need, and even sent some extra cash to buy the next round of beer for wrench night at the bike cave.
I hardly knew the man, but I can honestly say I looked up to him and respected him. I think we all learned a lot from Patrick, and not just about GS500's......
IMHO I think he was the ideal person, Generous when he could, stern when needed, and willing and ablew to do whats needed when needed. and an example to others as acting how one should. a class act
I never interacted with Patrick but want to share how he had a major influence on my life. I have had a restricted (no more than 250cc) bike license for over 10 years but never had a bike. Recently new laws came in that allow you to have a larger cc bike as long as it fit into the new power to weight restrictions. One day i was looking online at cars and for some strange reason decided to look at bikes. That was when I first laid eyes on a lovely 2010 gs500f. That was it I wanted a bike. Now having very little knowledge about bikes and what was a good buy i started doing some research. That's when I first came across one of Patrick's youtube video's about gs500's. I instantly thought damn this dude is awesome. I started searching for anything he had made and put on youtube. I couldnt watch stuff posted by others as it was just a poor attempt in comparison to how Patrick could explain and show you things. I even told my mate who has ridden for years about them and made him sit and watch Patrick's posts just to share how awesome they were. I knew then that I had to buy that gs500f I had seen. I finally got my gs and I would still sit at home watching patrick's vid's, pausing them and going out and looking at my bike to better understand what he was teaching me. This was a major turning point in my life. I had been suffering depression for sometime yet because of Patrick's charisma and just sheer awesomeness and love for what he was doing gave me much needed inspiration. My life has just kept getting better ever since. I often look at my bike and think about how to do things to it and every time something Patrick had said or done would pop into my mind. To find out about his passing has rattled me deeply. I owe that man for being the inspiration I needed to help me get my life back on track. I have gotten a promotion at work now and that I owe to Patrick. I wish I had gotten to thank him for it. Every time i get on my bike now I always think of him and hope that he can feel the happiness he helped bring to me where he is now. He is the true definition of a Legend.
West you can always thank him. Just because hes not here earthside, doesn't mean he cant hear ya ;)
Had to post this. Have been telling my girlfriend about Patrick and what an awesome person he was. She came over to see me and i showed her the first youtube post of Patrick's i had watched, "how to remove the fairing". Well after watching it she told me she reckoned she could do it. We then walked out to my bike and i asked her to show me how she would do it then. Now i didnt let her get any tools near my bike however she could tell me step by step everything I had to do and how to do it. That is just yet another example of how awesome Patrick was at sharing his knowledge. My girlfriend is a hairdresser by trade and not mechanically minded. Patrick has left a legacy that will benefit so many people for many years to come. He may be gone but will never be forgotten. Long Live ADDISDASGUY

Quoted for posterity. Patrick was one hell of a teacher. whomever takes over the day to day of the west seatlle club and maybe howto vids, will have a big pair of shoes to fill. although using the Patrick method, id say theyd do just fine
Just logged in after being a way for a while. I was hoping this was a bad joke. Patrick was always helpful. Always quick to answer PMs and loved the GS500 more than anybody I have ever heard of. Ordered a Adidas decal so I can always have a 2wheeled  reppin on my GS.
Am working on either engraving fork.braces, or having them produced in half inch thick alum. Double sided. A thread here about it. No charge for those that desire one. I just want patrick to ride round the world and represent what the ideal person should be like. Ill let you.know when theyre ready
