Title: Removing ignition switch from 2007 GS 500 f
Post by: Gcook57 on August 10, 2017, 04:59:49 AM
Could anybody tell me the correct procedure for removing an ignition switch from a 2007 GS500F I lost my only key in the locksmith wants $150 to come out and make it key and said if I remove the cylinder myself it would only cost $40 if I brought it into him but it seems very confusing to me how to get it out

oh ye of little faith

10 min max
bike on center stand
blocks under the engine
loosen top tripple bolts
then
start to loosen the tripple stem under the top tripple then slide the forks and or lower tripple down
until the top clamp falls off

There's answers to this all over the forum just search and you'll find it, I usually try to search for a thread that has the same issue as I have before I post a thread cause it's a lot quicker than waiting for someone to post a reply, plus it saves time and aggravation  ;)
