Post up your sources for riding gear.  I'm looking for good prices on new pants and jackets.

Thanks

I'm curious about this also. Any good second hand stores?

I've got 3 more gmail invites I'll trade for a riding jacket!

This wont tell you where to buy gear or what gear but may help you when you do decide to buy your gear.
It is from Motorcycle council of NSW and gives advice on what type of gear to buy and what sought of protection to look for.

As for where to buy from your better off looking for the brand and item you want then start looking everywhere as most shops will have some sought of sale going on. I know from previous experence if you go to one place to buy all of it then someone will come along and say Oh I saw that last week for $xxx cheaper then what you paid.

Can I recommend Dri rider equipment jackets and pants but not gloves they are to thick and give no feel   :thumb:

Do any of the SoCal riders recommend any PHYSICAL stores? Ones where I can try on a helmet or whatever?

Search your phonebook for local brick and motar places. Anyplace that carries gear, other than Harley shops, will have proper riding gear to try on. Cycle Gear is another place. Once you find the gear that fits, then see the best price you can get online. Maybe go back to the brick and motar to see if they'll give ya a deal.

what part of SoCal you in? You probably want to go to a larger store that'll carry lots of gear. Bert's Megamall in Corona (?), CalCoast  Motorsports in Ventura, House of Motorcycles in Escondido (there's another big one down there too, can't think of it).

These will have enough stuff to try on various styles and sizes of lots of stuff.

So where in SoCal are you then?

If you're anywhere near the valley, there is Cycle Gear in Canoga Park, and a store called Cycle Trends in Van Nuys I think....

Some of their deals are good, some are outrageous.  I paid something like $320 for a First Gear jacket at the dealer, only to discover it on the above site for $95.  My experiences with them have all been positive.

I get my gear from a local store in Madison (Madison Motorsports). Their prices aren't as good as some of the online places, but you're not getting screwed either.

On top of that, the people who own the store are usually there, and they are really nice and helpful. I like them and I choose to support their buisness.
