Just wondering how long people suggest riding before going to their first track day?  

I've only been riding for a few months so I don't think I'm quite ready for the track, but maybe next season I would like to get into it.  I've done a few track days in my car and loved it.  I think it would be just as fun on the GS.  Anybody else gone on the track in the car and then on the motorcycle?  How do they compare?

Also any good organizations located in or close to southeast PA (by close I mean a few hundred miles, for my car I travelled to Summit Point)?

Beaverun is in PA. If you're comfortable on the bike and confident in your riding, a track day will only make it better. Just remember to ride within your limits. Just because you're on a track doesn't mean you need to be trying to go all out all the time. You'll start in a novice group with no pressure to go faster than you're comfortable. The instructors don't want to see you go down any more than you do.

I was on a track last saturday. That was after 15 months and ~40000km of riding.

It's never to soon for a track day - in fact I think a track day should be required for getting a licence.

Has anybody done a track day with NESBA?

I have done a few track days in my Rx-7, and half of one on the Gs.

Both are a flippin blast!!
The motorcycle track day is 10 fold more physicaly demanding.
You will also learn more from a single track day on the bike than you will learn in a car.
I dont think you can get on the track early enough. its one of the best places to learn bike control.

I personally have not rode with NESBA, yet. Maybe next year. But everyone I spoke to about NESBA, always gives excellent comments about them. You will learn more from one day at the track than one year street riding.

I've taken both of my cars to the track many of times, but i have yet to take the bike, i prob will next season.

WHo takes FWD cars to the track? How did that work out for you?

My buddy mike has been doing NESBA days all year, loves it.  He says they're a bit more hands off than he'd have liked in the beginning, but now that he's up to speed and confident he likes them. Coincidentally, he dumped his B4 at 80mph at VIR last weekend! He's ok though, little banged and bruised, but fine. Maybe a little too confident, but he'll heal.

Hey werase - remember Mike and that pretty red B4 on my trailer last time I saw you? Neither of them are lookin' real pretty anymore!

Anyone who has a FWD car that likes to go to track days.  

i live like only 5 miles from the pocono track and they seem to have a track day just about every weekend or so.

I have an 85 Rx-7. Stock 12a, with tuned straight pipes, and all the right suspension mods.
