Backed my bike from my parking space today at work and thought the chain was rubbing, but it seemed okay.

When i got home and parked the bike i thought something looked weird.  the screws had completely fallen out of the back bracket and it was hanging down.  The only thing that kept the front in place was that it was sitting up against the heelguard.

I had it off about 2 months ago to replace the chain and sprockets, but it seems weird that it decided to fall off today.

glad it didn't wedge itself up under the front sprocket.

I usually locktite fasteners like that because they go thru plastic and can never get enough tension to hold thru the vibration.

it was really strange.  I've been looking for a good excuse to take off my chainguard.

Good reminder to check mine. Yesterday, I tightened up the 7mm bolts on the starter motor cover.

good judgement trumps good skills every time.

I use a black or silver Sharpie marker to mark vertical lines on the bolt heads after I tighten them.  Makes it easier to spot a bolt that has started to loosen.

And I loctite pretty much every nut that doesn't have a pin.

EDIT: it's loctite blue... nothing permanent :)

my impact driver and my breaker bar are my friends. It's still annoying.

Mine did the same on my TLR. Nice rub spot from the tire on it now. Locktite has become all of my bikes best friend.
