I just found this board.  I was wondering if it would be fairly easy to convert a new GS500F to a naked?  Has it been done?

I just don't like the looks of fairings.

Yea it can be done, and I call dibs on your parts :p We can trade. I'll get you my headlight.

Pretty easy. Just remove the bodywork and brackets and put a headlight bracket assembly on the forks. Donno about the headlight socket or if its still compatiable, that might be the hardest part, but its not that difficult.

i like the streetfighter look....plus if you wreck it you can put the plastics back on and tell them its like new.

I just can't seemed to find a used GS500 in san diego, so GS500F - F it is.

Too bad you don't live on this side of the country, I need a set of F fairings to make molds of. If you'd bought the bike, and lent me the bodywork, I would have done the conversion for you...
