Not sure, but maybe some fuel stabilizer?
+ the hawk also runs on a Fuel pump as opposed to Vac operation, that might have something to do with it.

Yeah, it's my buddy's 5.0. That license plate turns heads wherever we drive, it's just so ridiculous.

That corbin seat is insanely comfortable compared to the stocker. Also, for the passenger.  :thumb:

I love those bikes. I might have to go take a look at it.

Those are cool bikes, they didnt make them very long did they, kind of like the bandit 400.  Both cool bikes with short lives.

Jared

The bandit 400 was probably made longer than you think...they just didn't sell well in the USA....I'm sure they sold better in europe and abroad.
I almost bought an NT650 for my first bike (aka the  Hawk 650Gt we are looking at. ). I wish I had...but I ended up with a Gs500e...(89 model- black one).....

Sweeeeeeet bikes for sure.
When the 2nd Amendment is lost, the rest will soon follow.

Torque is LBs-FT Damn it.
Yeah that was me.    One of my rides

Honestly for 3K+... I'll run to Bigredmonkeybutt guys house and get his SV. In 99% of cases the SV is a better bike... that Single side swingarm is cool, but fact is, its just a novelty. Hard to get parts, lack of up grades, and not to mention that super narrow bicycle feeling. Cult followig or no cult following... BTW hasn't the cult moved to SV's by now???
Cool.

But SV's are ugly!  :nana:

Actually I think the older SVs are okay, but I think the new ones are ugly.

 Whats the inpiration behind that plate?

So I'm curious how it is to ride the Hawk back to back with our GS?  Its supposed to make a little more hp/torque but is it really noticeable?  How does the handling compare?

Srinath, I agree the SV is newer, but parts and mods are still easy to get for the Hawk.  Two Bros. has a lot of products still available for the Hawk ( Two Bros site ) and many guys do what the SV guys do and borrow parts from other bikes.  There is a guy on the Cycleforums Naked forum taking an entire front end off an RC51 and installing it on his hawk.  Others have taken F2 or F3 front ends as well as installing a VFR rear wheel (not sure about swing-arm) for better tire choices.  The downside is the NT650 has the same trouble as the Super Hawk... its lousy tank range :dunno:

I still think the Hawk 650 has the SV beat on style hands down

Styling... OK I am wiht laura... the old SV / TL looks great... the trouble is... the hawk IMHO looks frail and far too narrow for a fat guy like me... sorta like Ernest Borgnine and Kate Moss...
Cool.

The power jump from the GS to the Hawk is actually very noticable.  You don't have to rev the hell out of it to make decent power.  On the flip side, it redlines at like 8000 or something like that, so you have to be careful when you wind it up.  The guy I bought my GS from got a Hawk as his next bike.  In my opinion, the tail, tank and wheels are one of the ugliest combinations ever, but the frame is gorgeous.  If I were given the choice between the hawk and the sv, I'd take the hawk any day just to be different than the other 650 twins out there.  Plus, add a f2 front end, and a 8 spoke vfr rear wheel, and looks improve tremendously.
