So i was traveling down all kinds of twisties in northern Va. Im riding at a decent pace when i see outta the corner of my eye this big golden retriever see me from his yard, does he have a leash NOOO of course not. so what does he decide, but of course to dart after the loud sounding shiny thingy going 35 mph down the road! he almost runs in front of me but i gun it and he manages to nip at my rear tire and miss. kinda funny watching in your mirror a dog running at you down a twistie road LOL

ANYWAYS to my jump story

i was driving down the previous stated roads and took another side road to see where it lead. it was pretty straight speed limit was im guessing 40 give or take 5 mph.. so im going 50. stupid me because about 2 mins after being on the road i see a broad white line going across the road, in my area that means speed hump. so im like o crap not good, speed hump (and its a big one) at 50 MPH = BAD. so i made a split second decision and i guess it was my instinct decision as i didnt have probably even a second to decide. i got my a$$ off the seat and bent my knees and just let it go at 50. looking back at it now im glad i made that decision had i braked i would of most likely loaded the front end and high sided and totalled the bike and possibly hurt myself sevearly.

lesson here folks? MSF just saved my life lol. had they not taught me how to go over objects you cant avoid i might of very well made the wrong decision. :thumb:

Dirtbike experience would help here, too.

Gosh, I need to get a dirtbike...
The motorcycle is no longer the hobby, the skill has become the hobby.

Power does not compare to skill.  What good is power without the skill to use it?

Ive got some good snowmobiling experience to help me out during those situations.  As a matter of fact I did jump my bike last week, I was going over a hump and gased it and next thing I knew I was in the air, not very far but it sure felt cool, it was almost graceful, lol.
