I've had the bike for a few months now, and it is my first.  I've been reading the forums on the diff mods to do, but don't understand that much on the sprockets.  I've seen alot of 15t front but what size would I put in the rear.  Would I have to change the rear sprocket?
Also for Srinath: Do you still make the silp on?  How much?
Will the bars from suburban-machinery fit the 04 without clearance problems?

Well, you don't have to change either sprocket, of course.  

Seriously, if you're just looking for some extra "oomph" I would start by swapping the stock, 16-tooth front sprocket out for a 15-tooth unit.  If you decide that's not enough for you, go down to a 14-tooth unit before messing with the rear sprocket.  The front sprocket is easy to change - changing the rear sprocket requires removal of the rear wheel.

The same thing that changing the front sprocket does, only "in reverse".

In the front, FEWER teeth means more "oomph".

In the rear, MORE teeth mean more "oomph".[/list:u]However, a 1-tooth change in the front is approximately equivalent to a 3-tooth change in the rear.  If you change by 1 or 2 teeth in the front you can usually get away with just adjusting your chain tension.  If you add 3-6 teeth in the rear you'll need to buy a new (longer) chain to go with the new sprocket.

Oh, one other thing.  A side effect of more "oomph" is that your gears get "closer together".  That is, you will get up to your normal gear-changing RPM sooner, and have to shift more often.  As with most things in life, there are trade-offs....  :dunno:

So will an '02 15t fit on the '04?

As far as I know - YES.  But if you want to be SURE you should wait until an '04 owner who has done the mod corroborates that.

I would compare the stock part numbers on Bike Bandit or Ron Ayers , but they still haven't posted the '04 parts fiche yet.

Maybe you could post a description (shoulder / no shoulder) and a review of the sprocket after you get it fitted?

SM says the bars fit, however I believe even on an 90-00 the fit is marginal, and on the 04's its down right waaaay too tight ... Their point of view is... if you can somehow put it on it fits. ... The levers are too close to the fairing, the bar itself is too close to the tank, what if you wanted to rotate the levers differently or have thicker grips ...
My suggestion... OK the true clip on bars I made... They are much more adjustable ... while it is tight ... and anyhting will be if it has to be that low ... cos the stock ones are so high it seems to have a bunch of room... you can position everyhting with a fair degree of freedom...

Cool..How much do you charfe for your clipons?  How heavy would they be compared to stock?

$60 for the pair, pics of it are on page 26 WOF as well, also check page 25 ... I am going to make 2 more pairs, then the factory on these is going to close temporarily ... due to lack of material... The best looking pieces go to the first orders. The pieces probably weigh 1 lb for the pair, and the bars themselves just about 1 lb each, so 3lbs total wihtout bar end weights. About the same as stock... within 1 lb of stock.

How do you take payments and what kind of bar ends are on the stock '04.  I've also been reading about other ppl installing vortex clipons or other brand and it causes their bikes to lower.  Do yours do the same?

Here's maybe a stupid question, but I just ordered some flush mounts and they asked me single or double filament.  What's the difference?

Nvm forgot that it meant the bulb type....LOL

Dual filament bulb is for brake/tail light (think dual function), single filament for marker lights/turn signals.

Duals stay on and flash, singles just flash.
