why do some of yall put turbos on the bikes?  why dont yall just go and sell the GS and then buy 600 bikes or more powerful bikes?  the costs arent that much differing are they?  im just curious....  or is it more fun to ride a GS with a turbo where yall can smoke other 600cc bikes?

Well, I don't know for sure. But I can imagine why.....
Let's say you're a beginner biker and looking for your first bike.  You buy a Gs500e. You get it, ride it, and have a great time: You learn the feel of the clutch, the handling, the balancing, etc. to a level of comfort you appreciate so much that you can't just easily give up. It's easy then, for anyone to grow so attached that they yearn for something just a little more, as the proverbial saying goes, "the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence." It's way more appealing to add on, than to start completely new.
A turbo for the GS......Impractical? I think yes. But for some of us who have a special place in our heart, and a special reservoir in our wallet, there's an exception.

ive ridden faster biger bikes, oneday will get one o them too, but i must say, if i had a few more ponies on the GS, id be making more squids cry, and having ALOT more fun.  as it is i can out brake a good number of them, ive passed many in the turns. but just as your rolling out of the turn, they are pulling pass like i just got off the line. i think the turbo would help that alot and still maintain drivablity.  i really think it would help if one of our racers figured out how to lighten the countershaft by about 50% and reballenced everything. all those who have removed the CB and reballenced the cranks say its ok for races, but too buzzy for street,(save one or two) one i talked to (former owner of mine) claims just stock with reballenced crank and minus the CB shaft its a whole differnt engine and alot more fun
