I finally got around to putting in my drive chain.  Went 18,000+ miles.
Pretty much shot.  Rear sprocket looked good so I was not going to change either sprocket.  When I pulled off the cover to look at the front sprocket it looked rusted, which I can't understand.  It was fine by the teeth but the sides are brown.  Looks like the heat buildup might have had something to do with it.  Also the front sprocket had a noticable amount of side to side wobble.  I ordered a new sprocket and C clip.  Going to change it when I get it.  I'm just curious if there is something else I have to change to eliminate the wobble.

count the teeth on the front sprocket. The sprockets on newer model bike (after 94) have a little built in spacer. When installing a 15t sprocket (16 is stock) on a newer model bike its not uncommon to get a sprocket that doesnt have this. If its a 1/8" wobble or less its fine.

Which sprocket does yours look the most like?

If it's like the one in the middle, try a different one next time.  (Left = stock Suzuki, Right = JT Sprockets)

PS - '89 to '93 models MUST stick with the shoulder-less kind in the middle.  Apparently some '94s came stock with a shouldered sprocket and some without, so CHECK before you buy.

Mine is the original sprocket with 18.000+ miles on it
It's the 2002 model
I guess it looks like the one in the middle.
I orderd a stock Suzuki one so I'll see when I get it.
If there is still some play, I'll put in a spacer.

The side plate for the master link can be a pain to put on but I got it on without much trouble.  I used a 10mm socket and a c-clamp.   I just pushed it in enough to get it started.  Afterwards I got a nut whose hole was a little larger than the pin.  I squeezed in one end and than the other.  The good thing about using the nut is that the pressure from the other side of the c-clamp is going onto the pin and there is no chance of distorting the plate.
