I did not inventory Kerry, but I think there were some as low as 2.45/2.50 if memory serves...

No, they were all in the correct partitioned areas as far as I could tell...I swapped in my 2.75's for 2.60's and there were no 2.65's or I would have used those.  With the height of the peanuts/other stuff in the box, it's impossible for the shims to shift cubbies...I think it's impossible anyway...

It looks like you only had to buy one shim - good for you!  :thumb:

PS - I'm jealous of that slim magnetic pickup tool -- I'll bet it works great!

If there is the need for a peticular size and you have plenty of thicker shims, i have access to a precision grinder, i might be able to grind them down.

Kerry

That's good to know!  :)

I think it would be good to have some "in-between" sizes for those times when the clearance with a standard-sized shim is right on either .03mm or .08mm.  Normally your only choices would be to go from the tight end of the spectrum to the loose end, or vice versa.

Yeah ... in-between sizes would be COOL.  8)

I'm glad to help out.  There's nothing I like better than helping to "learn" somebody something USEFUL that they didn't know before.

Good luck selling your (properly adjusted!) bike.  :)

I received Srinath's kit today... nobody has signed up for it next (that I know of)  I have added Kerrys instructional cd to the kit.

I should get the job done this weekend unless I don't have the right shims.

Eisenfaust - Here's an even bigger favor:

If the valve adjustment kit currently has a 2.50mm shim (and you don't need it) would you consider mailing it to me?  This is the size that I needed but didn't have when I made the video.  I keep forgetting that I still haven't bought one.

I'll reimburse you for the postage.

iirc srinath's kit had 250.. not 100% sure though

The Buddha

Yea mine did, and no way I'll need a 250 ... like I said I am getting thicker on the 89 ... no clue on the 95.
Cool.

I'd like to be added to the kit queue.  Is there an official list floating around?

Thank you.

Srinaths kit has a 250... I checked last night.  (I have his kit)

I'm gonna do the adjustment this weekend... and if I don't need any shims I don't have, I'll send it to raceratb, then it looks like joerocker is next.

so it kind of looks like we are ending up with a east coast kit and a west coast kit.   maybe we need two threads? one for each to rsvp spots?

The Buddha

Well mine seems to be making a trip to the west coast ... raceratb is in LA ... you think it might help to send the west coast kit to him...
Cool.

We shouldn't lose more than a day or two in shipping either kit across the country and back.  It takes most folks longer than that to get around to using the kits.  raceratb wisely signed up on the "Srinath Kit" list because almost nobody else was in line.  :)

We should probably organize the waiting lists by kit rather than by coast.  But if two interested parties are within one mailing day of each other we could encourage them to go back-to-back, and even give the 2nd guy "cuts in line" in special situations.

After all, it's gonna be a long winter ... right? :dunno:

I was thinking  E/W coast kits whould help reduce shipping time, and cost for all, but it dosen't really matter as it seem to take about a week once you get the kit to do the adjustment.
