what?  i can see them if I click on the link.  if I ask nicely are you going to buy me one for Christmas?

Roadstergal

No, I meant posting them as images, rather than links.

And I'm looking for someone to buy ME one for Christmas!

I don't need a Ducati, though, and they're too tall for me anyway.  I'll settle for a Boulevard S40... I'm not greedy...

Dom

Nice pix.

I went too and snapped off a few but nothing really worth posting... Just a few of a gas tank made by Lucky's Choppers, the orange skull paintjob on the tank at the pinstriping guy's booth(the guy that had all the tanks hanging on the wall)...and some of the Acerbis headlights(one big one small) on the Ducatis upstairs...everything else was crap...except for the adjustable air ride suspension demo on the new Harleys...and how could you not love the Russian Urals....the camo one with the side car....very cool.

Oh yeah, and the way they polished the bottoms of the pop cans was pretty cool too..

Roadstergal

Oh, I loved that Ural!  I was ogling it, and a guy there asked if I wanted to sit on it.  I demurred, stating that it was far too tall for me.  A woman who was Edna from The Incredibles, I swear, told me that she has one and I should go ahead and sit on it!  Well, duh, it has a sidecar, so it doesn't matter if my feet don't touch the ground.  It had a rocker shifter and reverse gear.  It was so cool...

if I whould of known, I whould have rode up there

Roadstergal

There's another day left.  Get some sleep and go tomorrow!

davipu

well why didn't you say it was this weekend? I whould have gone to bed hours ago

Dom

I took about thirty other pictures of some cool stuff but then I noticed that I had been taking them all on super high res and I can only fit about 20 super high res photos on my camera so I dumped them all and was too lazy or uninspired to go back and take the photos again.. maybe tomorrow...the other photos I took for my work...I was basically paid to go... on special assignment... I build tradeshow exhibits... a company came to us about a week ago and told us thy needed an exhibit then backed out at the last minute...my job was to see if they went with a competitor's services instead...they didn't...as you can see by this photo...pretty, well, um, naked...

Dom

Today's been the first completely dry day in weeks...you might get lucky and it'll be dry for you tomorrow...the show is at Quest Field Exhibition Center...right next to safeco field...10am to 5pm.  $12

davipu

so you were working for Desperado?  did they have a "pale rider" there? I was going to buy on but there was this little 35g's problem....

Dom

No, I work for Exhibit Design Consultants, Inc.  www.exhibitd.com

We design, sell, and rent custom and portable tradeshow exhibits.  They came in last week and we drew up a proposal but they rejected it and went with a lower cost option(some kind of welded wire backwall and a hanging banner.  That's the breaks!

davipu

I don't know why, with what they charge for thier bikes

Dom

I dunno...maybe all the parts are custom fab in house...Plus, when people get old and have spent their whole lives making money and now they have a bunch, they don't feel comfortable paying 15 or 20 G's...they feel like they have to spend twice that or they don't feel they are getting the "best".  I used to see that alot when I was working in the custom cabinet business...I built a $30,000 entertainment center...If people can pay that much for something, they will...The head guy at Desperado said that they sold one bike for over $80,000...

Dom

Yeah...the rental would only have been a few grand...chump change to these guys eh?...They said they produce around 300 bikes a year...do I smell something... :bs:

(I've been waiting to use that emoticon for a looong time)

BTW, didn't see a Pale rider...I checked them out on the website before the show, IMO the coolest bike they have...but forgot to look for one at the show...choppers ain't really my gig...the only one I have ever liked is a black one in the showroom at Seattle's Harley dealer, but it isn't your usual chopper either.

juggernaught

I saw a matte black 749 in Harlem on marathon week over here.  The guy was sipping a coffee in a leather track suit  while parked on 125 St.  Beautiful bike. I respect the GSX and it's track record but i've never been to fond of them particularly as they seem to be the #1 squid bike around here.  It seems that every spring/summer 2 of 3 motorcycle deaths around here..the rider was on a GSX.  Too much bike for too new riders.

Hey...Road....you sure your too short for a Duc..??  I'm only 5'5"..??  And that's in my disco shoes..??   :dunno:

Roadstergal

I'm 5'1", and my inseam is short for that height.  I can't put my feet down on a stock SV650, for reference...

davipu

Bawawaawawaawawawa  short people.

this is kinda funny
we have a custom bike on display at my place of employment
people stare at the damn thing because its shiny and don't notice the problems with it

such as

it leaks oil (not much but it still leaks)
the paint has some scratches (most likely not their fault people touch the damn thing all the time)
and the tank is on crooked
(maybe these are features)

from a distance it looks pretty good
but it seems the craftsmanship was lacking

maybe i should call them to let them know
