valve tool interest

I was just wondering if there was enough interest here for valve tools,  I talked to my boss about it and costs of running the plasma/cad program is about 145 a hour for the first hour and 50 a hour after that. material cost would be minimal on top of that, as I'd be using leftovers from other projects. so I was figuring that it takes about 3 minutes to cut each one out so about 20 a hour.  so if there was enough intrest (about 40 people) the cost would be about 5 bucks a tool, +3.95 priority mail shipping.  sound interesting?

I'd definitely go for it...and could probably sucker Danny into buying one for that price too.  I could try the local dealerships too, see if they would be interested in picking some up to sell for profit.

I'd be interested, but shipping to the UK might  stopp it being cost effective for me. :dunno:

Dave, I just sent you my "loaner" tool via First Class for $1.29 - and that was in a box that's about 3 times bigger than it needs to be.  That might give you some leeway on the cost of fabrication.

You use it to compress the valve spring (by pushing down on the cam follower or "bucket") so you can extract/replace the shim.

Does the inside curve of the tool need to be smooth?  Would the plasma cutter cut it that smooth?
