I know this has been done before.. but I couldn't use the search function to find anything meaningful..

I have an alpinestars tz-1 jacket; but I fear in the hot/humid atlanta weather it might not work too well.  Can someone recommend a lightweight WARM/HOT weather jacket?  I know newenough has some on sale; but any recommendations?

Thanks!

just wear your winter jacket over your riding jacket, it might make you more Susceptible to crosswinds and flap some, but it is cheeper.
i just wear my leather bomber style jacket over my jacket to keep me warm... some sweaters also help.
People who think that money is there biggest problem,
need to realize that there are some big frikin problems out there.

I have had the Reactor S for the past year and I use this jacket year 'round.  It has a zip in/out liner that makes it pretty warm, and it has zippered vents in the arms and back that allow air to pass thu when its hot.

I wear this jacket (its black too) in the 100 degree Bama heat plus humidity, so I'd recommend it.  I'm sure its not a cool as a mesh jacket like the phoenix, but IMO it has better protection.

Is the Joe Rocket 'Santa Fe' jacket any good? The local Suzuki dealer has a sale on them, and I'm in need of a summer jacket (heck, its always summer here... its 76 degrees outside right now)

Joe Rocket Phoenix is a great mesh jacket with all the body armor.  I live in SC, and it's great in the hot and humid summers.

I picked up a Joe Rocket Rio for use in 100+ degree weather last summer.  It is a terrific jacket for REALLY hot weather, but if you have the money, upgrade to the Phoenix.  They're both mesh armored jackets with great ventilation, but the Phoenix has the leg up on quality.

You didn't mention what kind of budget you had, but if money is no option, then how about this?

Teknic Spider Jacket - converts from
WATERPROOF TO MESH

for all-weather, year round riding. At ~$290 it's kinda pricey, but from what I hear it is well worth it. This is definitely going to be my next jacket.

Check out what people have to say about it:

Man, that's more than what I paid for my Meteor ($150) and Rio ($85) together.

I have a Belstaff Zodiac, great jacket.  have it for over two years and
no problems.  Not waterproof or anything.  Just a good quality basic warm weather jacket.

I think there is some confusion scattered throughout this thread.  The OP is seeking jackets that will keep him cool in warm weather, not warm jackets for cool weather.
