do you know where the motorcycle parking spots are downtown? i'll be starting a new job and working on 1200 block of columbia street but will park anywhere relatively close to that area and gaslamp area.  can you help?

I remember some mc parking right by the civic center.  Between the civic center and the fish taco  place to the south of it I think.  I think there are other places as well, it is not that hard to find them by driving around.

I work at West Region Detention Facility (The old county jail.) on West C St.  We have underground parking specifically for bikes, but I know, there are some spots by "The W." Hotel, also I believe on Kettner Blvd.  There are a grip of motorcycle parking spots all over that part of downtown.  If you're working on Columbia, there should be loads of Motorcycle parking spots in that area.  If you're lookin' for free parking areas, there are some spaces on 3rd ave by kettner, and Beech St., and maybe even by "The W" hotel, where they have unmetered spaces that we park our cars at, where u could prolly fit ur bike in as well.  Big reason I luv my bike, I could park my bike easier which means I don't need to spend an hour lookin' for parking for my car. (or pay like 11 or 12 bucks for paid parking areas.)

thanks for the info everybody. i'll be sure to look out for and keep an eye on any other GS's downtown when I start commuting next next week.  
as far as meeting and riding, i'm all for it.  i know national city motorcycle is doing a meet and ride this sunday at 09:00....

Sometimes, I need to go to work in SD and in front of my office (5th Street of between E and F street), there are motorcycle parkings. I see one bike whenever I go to SD. I never ride up to SD (My boss hates me to see I am on the bike after I had an accident.), but thinking about riding to SD.
I have a question, I have to pay for the parking like a car? I dont see any coin meter around a motorcycle parking.

hahah.. how about all the GS500's in san diego, all ride out to Bike Night ! ! !  hahah that would be a sight.  

Lil' Brat, if you go to 3rd st, B Ave, or Beech St.  there are free parking spots if you're lucky.  Bike parking spots are all free tho.  Advantages of having a motorcycle.  Anyways, I'm down for a ride out w/ other GS'ers....  anyone??
