OK I have been unable to open the CD ... it does say windows media player but doesn't open ... so I guess who ever copied it made some mistake.
I'll send it out today anyway. Maybe a good disc should be added to that at some point.
Cool.

Wasn't me.  I got the CD from Kerry and copied it for myself, I put the original from Kerry in your kit.  Both the original and the copy I made for myself worked fine. :dunno:

Windows media player stinks.  Get winamp from www.winamp.com

Hey, don't bring Srinath along too fast.  He's liable to come up with all kinds of feedback that I can't do anything about without reshooting....

Just kidding, Srinath.  :guns: Fire away!  If I ever DO reshoot I'll need all the feedback I can get.

Oh well remember one of the original dudes that was desparate for video and stuff like this for working on the GS ... was an old friend of mine called Srileo ... he wants one copy ... now I made myself a couple of copies but cant open it ... I might send them down to him and let him figure out.
Cool.

The video wasn't in a DivX / XVid format was it?  If so Srinath would need to go download the encoders.

Its been about a month since I watched the video and I can't remember how it was recorded, but those symptoms are typical of not having the right video encoders...

It's a .WMV file.  I just told the rendering program (Ulead something or other ... this was before I got Pinnacle Studio Plus) to save in Windows Media format.

Rema1000 wrote to remind me that a WMV file is just a "container" ... that it can still host several different formats.  Or rather, that its contents can be encoded using one of umpteen different codecs.

As far as I can remember, I told Ulead to use the MPEG4 format for output.  So, if anyone knows how to go about finding/installing an MPEG4 codec....

I just received Srinath's kit yesterday, watched Kerry's video last night.  I'm going to try to perform the valve adjustment today.

Rema1000, PM me your address.

Eisenfaust

I sent out Kerry's kit to Jeff P over a week ago, he should have it now. :-)

Okay, I checked my valves today.  Three were too tight (both intake and right exhaust).  I was able to change the right exhaust from a 2.65 to a 2.60 and got the proper clearance.  However, the two intake shims are 2.60 and there weren't any smaller ones in Srinath's kit.  So, I'm going to hold on to Srinath's kit until I get some 2.55 or 2.50s to replace them.

Anyone know of a good source for shims?  My local dealer takes over a week to get Suzuki OEM parts, and charges full price.  I need two shims smaller than 2.60.

davipu

try a local triumph or BMW dealer, they usually have a onsite or close repair shop that stocks shims.  I have found that they are the most friendly overall with riders of other brands, and you should be able to get them for like $5 a piece.

Yea we swapped the thin stuff with Kerry's kit I think. My kit has thick ones, 260 and up in plenty and pretty poor on the thin ones. How about you measure the ones you pulled out and measure the 260's I have and put the thinnest ones in. The 260 is just a number, they wear albeit slowly and usually 258 or 257 is common among 260's.
Cool.
