I am VERY interested in the set of GSXR carbs moded for the Gs.

Are these overkill for the street, and am I gonna need a new exhaust??
Could I bolt them up for now and get the exhaust later??

If it is the carbs from tshirtracer, I believe they are 38mm (stock GS carbs are 33mm or 34mm depending on year). On a stock motor you may end up running too rich. A high flow exhaust and air filter are a must, otherwise you probably will be fouling plugs.

btw...he is a member here and I have bought stuff from him before. Top notch guy.  :thumb:

Yea I am pretty sure its Tshirtracers parts.
I am planning on getting a V&H exhaust and some pod filters in the furure, and I suppose the Gsxr carbs would also be a good upgrade.
What kind of a power bump do you think I should expect??

dgyver

It would be very noticable, probably in the 45hp range. The stock system is very restrictive.

yup thats the auction... 45 hp!?!?!?! that would be sweet!!!!!

I have a feeling you'd lose a lot of low end and gain a bunch up top.
Cool.

There really is not a lot of low end to lose.

That makes it even worse - to lose even what little he's got... :)

not like I ever let it drop under 6k unless I am at a stop... especially since I droped the front sprocket 1 tooth......

dgyver

You would be suprised at the difference a full exhaust and high flow air filter will make, even at lower rpms. You really will not lose any off the bottom end.

Yea there isn't much low end anyway ... true ... so like ... who am I kidding ... I wish I had the bread to buy these or similar ones and hack away ...
