These may be comming soon .... Check out the GT250 .... looks just like the GS500 Nekid ... only with USD Forks and a 150 rear tire.  The Comet 650's are nice ... I really like the half and full faired versions.

And I remember when thay were saying the comet650 would be selling here for around $4400.  Never happened yet.  Too bad, I have heard many times that the motor is either purchased from Suz or it's a perfect copy.  The bike would be damn fun.

Couldn't help but notice the comet 650 frame changed from looking GS500-like to sv650-like.

Hey, I hope it happens.  Competition is always good.

Anyone else think that damn 250's engine bay is going to be cramped ... I have seen that motor and its not small ... its in fact larger than the Virago 535 motor ... And that 650 cruiser which I have never seen before promises to be as bulky as a V-rod ... so as to attract the V-rod market away from american made to korean made ... anyone else think That's near impossible ???

So: $700, or 9% cheaper than the naked SV (but the Comet has no fuel injection); and $600, or 7% cheaper than the SV650S?  That's not much of a discount.

Yeah, not much incentive to gamble the new guys who havn't yet established themselves in the world market.  There's also a stigma about dropping the price too low.  They don't want to present themselves as cheap crap slingers either.

Well though there is a small issue of some hardware ...
The Comet is USD front forks ... who is the maker of those BTW ... anyone reputable Kayaba or Showa or ... and the frame of that comet is far more appealing to my eye than the vacuum formed SV's ... However I liked the old SV/TL more than either comet or new SV ...
Cool.

Dragonfly

Motorcyclist had GREAT things to say about the Comet 650.
Is it finally gonna cross the pond and sell in the states???

jag69

Remember... those prices are Canadian $

Cal Price

Not only does the 650 not have the injection it weighs about 29k (63.8lbs)more that the SV. The beauty of the SV is that it's a light, sporty, flickable bike with a bit of grunt.

I was quite interested in the GT650 comet but the reaction from the dealers was less than inspiring so I figured maybe not.

In Cricket the testicular guard, or Box, was introduced in 1874. The helmet was introduced in 1974. Is there a message??
