So up here in Minnesota we got a little hot spell, we had a high today of 50 degrees F, so I get the bike out of storage. SHe fires up rights away, and everything is great. The roads are pretty dry, no slush or anything, but I happen to find the only bit of remaing snow in the Twin Cities and almost wipe out.

  Thanks to MSF course I looked where I wanted to go, and made it back to dry pavement,  but the back end swung out real bad....wheh.. :)

Anyways I am just so happy have got some riding time in early Feb. That is just unheard of up here. I know what you SoCal riders get...and I am jeleous. I will get some pics tomarrow cuz it is supposed to be warm tomarrow to  like 50 again...sweet!!! :P

Forget Cali ... they had rain ... lots of it this year ... South east baby ...
In the 70's till mid Jan, then we dropped to a freezing ass 40's for the highs for ~ 10 days, and now back to 60 high and gorgeous ... Till mid next week, then a day of rain, then back to this ... that's the weather guy ... he's been waaaay off sometimes ...
Cool.

We're getting your weather over here today.  BTW, Thanks.

I know Mother Nature is just teasing, so although I also want to take a spin, I'm gonna leave the bike nicely packaged in the garage.  The air box and exhaust is bagged, the pistons & cylinders are coated in fogging oil, and although I'd like to run some petrol through the carbs to make sure they're clear, I'll just take a pill and enjoy the warmth 'til the cold returns.

But when the page turns to March -- watch out.  I'll be unwrapping my present and be on the road on first day we cross 40F.

Such a beautiful day today in Minneapolis.  This was the first time I thought the freeway interchanges were safe.  The bike said it was 52F while cruising on the freeway, Hoodibaba!  The sun was shining, and I didn't tip my visor down to block it... it felt better to squint a little and feel it on my face :)

Yeah, Coll, it's a bit too interesting, trying to ride in snow; I pulled through a curvy back street by Calhoun last spring, and rounded the turn to see a wide hump of 6"-deep snow spanning the whole road  :o  .  I straightened-up a bit and rode into it, and the bike almost got stuck upright (back wheel spinning in the snow)... luckily no dump, but a snow trap was not what I was expecting.

My bikes are still packed away for the winter as well but the riding bug was biting hard today. Maybe I'll do the Motorcycle show at the convention center tomorrow and go into a feeding frenzy. :o

Which, taken at the flood, leads on to fortune;
Omited, all the voyage of their life is bound in the shallows and in miseries...

Ah well.  You can still hit the lakes (if you're in that part of town).  It made quite a sight:  people strolling around the lakes in shirtsleeves, with a backdrop of guys ice-fishing.

Maybe we'll start the "First Thursday Bike Night" at Dulonos in March instead of April this year :) .  We'll just declare an early summer.  :thumb:
