i searched the archives and found no mention. Does Suzuki offer OEM repaints though dealers, or any other channel?
     
     I bought the touch up pens from them a while back, candy anteres red(wtf is anteres?) and it was mostly a funny joke, as the two pens were pretty impossible to work with or make anything resembling the correct color.
 
   anyway, i need to repaint some pieces, and thought someone might know. thanks.

Antares is a star that is suspected to be a red giant. Or maybe not. Its in Scorpio and bloody bright and red, gets confused for mars easily ... but its off the ecliptic by a bit so hard to confuse the 2 ... There is more if you want to know ...

thanks, that's exactly what i was looking for. color-rite didn't come up in any of the web searches i did.

is painting one of those things best left to pro's, or could the average guy do it with the aerosol cans, in general? i remember the pens being very difficult to match base coat to top coat, but it seems like bringing your own paints to a bodyshop would be like taking your own steak to a restaurant, or something. thanks again.

what do a red dwarf and candy have to do with eachother? i understand the color was named in the early seventies, a magical time when lsd-25 was just trickling up to the "squares", engineers, etc. who might be naming paints, but surely someone after a few years would have noticed that the name was not created under your average artistic inspiration, and  especially when the eighties came around because by then, it was pretty much the white dwarf or nothing, if you can "dig", so i would've assumed someone would catsh it at suzuki world hq and have changed it to "tennis chaff red" or "love buzz rouge" or something. but milkyway is a candy, and a cosmic entity, so i guess there's a precedent

i buy the aerosol cans.. i use sandpaper and rough up the area im painting, then base coat it, then top coat with whatever I've bought... then finish up with a clearcoat.
