I was bumping around on Ebay today, and saw this bike up for sale.  Notice the GSTwin decal on the swingarm.  I'm sure it is someone from this sites bike.

wait wait wait 70mpg???? what? dropped out of an airplane while idle-ing?????

people won't pay too much for salvage titles because you get screwed when/if you try to sell them.  I like the color of the handlebars a lot though... how do they do that?

Jeppy

That guy lives near me. I've seen him really pushing that GS to the limit several times. I would pass on the price he wants for it....I would go maybe $700 but that is even pushing it for me.

Those look like dirt bike handlebars.

So that's how he got his amazing MPG.

BTW, I think I have seen the picture with the guy on the bike before, probably here inthis forum.  Anyway, I think  he has been very honest with so much details so I think he would be a reasonable person to deal with.

Just my $0.02.

I'm not saying he is unreasonable....his asking price is unreasonable.

If you ask me, that is exactly what I want to see in a Ebay add.  Lots of big clear pictures, text describing where the bike came from, what has happened while he owned it, and why he's selling it.  Clear and concise.

Sure beats the typical tiny fuzzy dark picture with a desciption of something like.  "This bike is in mint condition!!! FAST!  Never seen rain.  Salvage Title."

I think the price isn't too far off, but the salvage title should probably knock it back a couple hundred at least.  But it all depends on what else is available in the area at the time.  I agree with EdD89, guy at least sounds forthcoming and honest, heck he posted a BEFORE pic of the bike.  Pretty big contrast compared to a lot of ebay schisters.  :)

The GS500 is the safest bike on the planet, it can just barely kill you.
