ok..installed the wileyco can a few days ago.  noticed a couple of things

flat power delivery on low range and the exhaust is popping albeit not loudly when i rev it in neutral.

i'm assuming it now needs a rejet....but this is just a slip on, i was hoping no rejet was necessary... :dunno:

you're running VERY lean...
wileyco, K&N pod, rejet 22.5/65/147.5, F16 flyscreen, progressive springs, 15t front sprocket...more to come: katana shock

It will pop a little bit after you are all dialed in... I believe because of the cam overlap, but it definitely shouldn't be popping while in idle, or at least while you are warmed up.  Mine pops a little bit in idle when cold but not enough to be called popping, I would call it occasional burping or gurgling which is different than popping.  Then there is the BANG which you might experience once in a while if you give a few twists of the throttle a little while before you start it up.  If your GS bangs while riding you are extremely lean.  You will know a bang when you hear it because it sounds like a shotgun and shoots fire a foot out of the can.  Also if you pop alot upon decelleration then you are lean.

Are you jetted with 150mains, 40 pilots, 1 washer, and 3 turns out?  You might want to screw in your air mix a 1/4 turn.

I thought turning the screw IN makes the bike even leaner?  Wouldn't he want to turn it out to richen it a bit?

If you view the movies on the Vance & hines page in the modification section of gstwin.com you'll hear the popping when the throttle is released.

The bike was rejetted and dynoed and tuned perfectly.  I think some popping is normal.

Yeah...duh.

You want the butterflies to be more closed.

Dom

Ever watch a NASCAR race?  Those cars I can guarantee you are dyno'd and tuned perfectly and they pop like crazy...especially when cornering....flames shooting out the pipes...it's the cam...it has an overlap which wastes fuel but is essential for pulling out horses at the top end.

The Buddha

OK yours has a restrictor in it right ... and it pops on closed throttle or when opening ... that blat blat sound on closed throttle is normal ... its supposed to be lean ... when you close throttle ...
Cool.

yeah the popping is pretty much during warm up..once i start riding its fine except for the flatness on low rpm's.  i do have a K N filter installed, drop it with the restrictor.

i'm gonna get it rejetted anyway since i already bought the dynojet kit.  impulse buy...grr

scared the crap out of me when i twisted the throttle warming up and i thought it blew up or something...it popped liek crazy..

OK man the pipe will make a bike that is lean slightly more lean ... hopefully just slightly more ... with restrictor I think I am accurate in saying that ... You put K&N ... which I believe is 2 sizes up with pipe no telling how lean you are ... pipe is 1 size up ... with choker OK maybe 1/2 size ... K&N is 2 sizes with pipe so by ltself its a +1 ... BTW its a Airbox K&N or clamp on K&N ... Clamp on is much more than 1+ ...
