Hi people,
i was reading about Vance & Hines ignition advancer on the Modifications page.It's a big problem to buy such a thing here in Serbia.I have a friend in Richmond (VA) that would maybe be willing to to find it for me there and to send it here.But i want to ask you would it be worth the effort,will i notice better performance at all. I have a stock GS '01 with 4000 miles on it,no modifications yet.

I have the ignition advance - it helps a lot.  Unfortunately it is no longer made - unless you are very lucky there will not be one available.

The do-it-yourself method on the mods page will get you much of the benefit - or there is a member who  will modify your stock one.  The same piece was apparently used from 1989 through at least 2001 so taking one off a junk bike and having it modified might get what you want.

if you have your friend get a regular stock one, he can ship it to Bob (click)[/color] who is our resident ignition rotor guru. His modification will advance it, and also affect the dwell, which the do-it-yourself method will not do.

OK 89-00 rotor is a bit different from the 01-03 rotor, and 04+ is entirely different ... no idea what your options are ... but make sure the V&H will work on the 01.
