My g/f took that picture while I wasn't paying attention. While looking thru pics for a "Members Mugs shot" I decided to change my avatar also, so I used it. I didn't even think about Indestructableman's avatar, til I saw both of our avatars on the same thread.

:?  :?  :?

After the initial shock, I decided what the heck, we have other member's with similar poses. I'll keep it for a bit, then probably change it again.

And to be fair, I actually do have some hair, it's just clipped real short. 8)

Now Kerry, is your current avatar all that remains of the famous Cowboy Colossus?

Kerry

Yeah, the one with the terrible tailor.  It looks like he took some of the chaps material from the left side (as viewed) and sewed it onto the right....

Seriously, this is Delicate Arch.  It's a 1.5-mile (2.5 km) hike from the nearest parking lot in Arches National Park.  The park is near Moab, Utah which is right about 200 miles (320 km) from my home.

Once I get out of Utah Valley, there are only 4 towns between here and there.   It's 78 miles to the first town, and you pass the next 2 towns in the next 15 miles.  Then 57 miles to the last town, and 50 more to Moab.  The vast majority of it through desert. :o  And people wonder why I haul a heavy tool bag and 2 liters (at least) of water....  :?

I assume the "Delicate" part of the arch's name refers to the spot on the left where the tailor snipped the material a mite thin.  The right side has never looked "Delicate" to me....

Oops - looking back, I see that this was a rather flagrant thread hijack.  Sorry folks!

Yea but we've had our fun with the thread ... so its time for a brief description of Famous Landmarks on the face of the planet ...
