That's what I'm thinking. Is the kickstand down when you put it into first?

I'm pretty sure in the Clymer it shows how you can adjust it if it is simply not working properly.

Don't mind me I'm just new.

Frost and TOMIMOTO are right on.  :thumb:

The start ckt is wired to allow one to start with the stand down and the tranny in neutral to warm up.

When one hops on, one must first put the stand up and then put in gear.  It's a safety feature, so one doesn't ride off with the stand down.

Or. . .

Or if not. . . I'm thinking if the clutch lever and/or clutch cable weren't adjusted property, preventing the clutch to fully dis-engaging, the bike would only remain running when the engine was good and warm.  If it cooled off. . . then it might die each time he tried to put if first, until warmed up again.

Sidestand, prolly.
