When you measure your chain for stretching you count out 21 pins and the maximum allowed distance between them is 319.4mm.
The distance between 21 pins on my chain was 322.1mm.  That's about 3cm!!!  :lol:  :lol:  :lol:

My chain must have stretched like 15cm overall!!!  Dayum!  That's almost as long as my...spacebar.  :mrgreen:

um...

322.1mm - 319.4mm = 2.7mm =~.3cm != 3cm

you're off by a factor of 10 there.

Chains are ghey, I wish our bikes had belts.  Atleast then I wouldnt worry about my leg being ripped of by my chain if it flies apart.

if the chain is tended to correctly, even half assed it isnt likly to take your leg off.

Belts are expensive from what i found, they teeth and when they break, your screwed. the Cog's are expensive to replace too compaired to chain

Ive had a masterlink come apart on me once on my 82 GS750E  i found a chunk of hard wire on side of the road, and with my leatherman was able to make a link with doubled up wire, and limp home in 2nd gear.

ive got a Kawi 440ltd with a belt drive right now (for sale 400$) if i was planing to keep it, i would change it over to chain.
