Hey fellow riders.  I have had my GS since July of last year.  I took it for a trade in b/c i thought about getting a CBR600.  They told me I have some oil leaking in my forks b/c there was this black ring around it. About $200+ to fix.  I think the bike needs new sparks and a valve adjustment.   I think before I upgrade I need more practice with my GS b/c I cant flat foot a crotch rocket being 5'7" so I didnt trade it in.    I want more speed though, and was wondering where I could get some parts to make the bike faster, or any things other than an exhaust ( i plan on getting one).  I want to get an Aluizo fairing kit for the bike and soup it up!!  Any sugestions greatly appreciated.

the quickest method of 'getting it faster' would be putting a 15tooth front sprocket on it..
while it's been debated as to whether top speed gets enhanced or not, it definately will help with acceleration, and add a little bit of fun factor for you.
you can go to the home page of gstwin.com and see a how to on your valve adjustment. spark plugs are pretty much self explanitory. I haven't needed to do my fork seals yet, so I'll let someone else answer for that.

This is just my 2 cents.

Add up all the mods u want and figure out how much money you are going to waste if you still plan on trading it in in about a year or so.  Save that money and continue to learn on a good starter bike and when it comes time to get your new bike you will have about 1000 or so to put down, pay taxes, or buy accessories.

But if you plan on keeping the GS by all means do what you want.
