Hi all, I'm trying to find a CHEAP, but reliable ride for a friend of mine, he's got about $1000 to spend might be able to get a little more, but would prefer a little less.

I'm trying this search near Houston/central TX as I've got to make a road trip later this week and he'll be riding shotgun - so anyway, if you know of something for sale, or know someone who does, please drop me a line.

Yes, I have tried the cycletrader, but in my experience the real finds usually aren't advertised.

Yeah, I am in Austin, try either the Two wheel Texans site, or maybe Cycleforums.com. At cycleforums, you need to find your way to the southewest section.

I'm from the Houston Area. You should pick up a Greensheet when you come down here. They're free and usually in grocery stores, some convienence stores, and places in the foyer. The Greensheet always has good deals on stuff.
