i had my buddy change the oil on my bike before i sold it, and apparently one of the bolts is broken by the oil filter cover.  does anyone know where you can buy a replacement bolt?  it is on an '89.

i am well aware of these websites.  none have really helped other than ron ayers, but their microfiche only has for 2001-2002.  that so far isnt much of a help.  now, do you know where i can get my parts?

This page of microfiche should have what you are looking for. Part #12 if I understood you correctly.

Suzuki used two different official names for the gs. 89-00 is called a gs500e and 01-02 are called gs500. You probably could have used the part from the 01-02. The engine really hasn't changed much.

Sorry for the misunderstanding. Your first post sounded to me like you were asking where you can buy parts.

If you want the genuine Suzuki part, check out my Parts Fiche Links page.

If you want to go the "aftermarket" route, some creative searching like "oil cover stud broke*" oughta turn up a few past threads.  (I'd do the search myself, but I gotta scoot....)
