if anyone knows what kind of chromoly is used in the gs 500 frames, the 91/2-2003 i would love to know, and about people hittin me up for parts, i may sell the bike outright, may part it, i got another frame comin and may use that and another destruction frame for my project, im not sure

thanks

Its the kind of Chromoly that has neither chrome nor molybdenum, but it does have a bit of carbon ... AKA freaking mild steel ... Its like 18 guage steel wall DOM tubing ... The tank wall on an 89-00 is thicker than the frame spars ...

i haven't seen this kind of teasing since going steady with little polly perkins in high school...what if you sold it outrighjt, but without the handle controls? they just muck up the clean lines of the handlebars

The Buddha

WTF are you talking about ... clean lines ... handle controls ... I dont know nothing about clean whatever ... I cant tell what looks good and what doesn't ... does it work ... does it fit the rider and what not is all I care about ... 1/2 the time the stuff I make looks industrial and sorta like it belongs on a piece of machinery ...  strong, fits and feel right is all I care about ...

im sorry man ill know more on saturday i got so many projects going and obviously im not rich, hahahah, so i gotta budget whats best, it may be best to just work the busted new frame if i get it, and get abusted tank and some plastics and seats instead of parting the other one out, but its harder to get through inspection when its just a frame, hahahahahahah, the whole point is ill have it tagged on road, completely legal, hehehehehehe, gs500

thanks for the response on the frame, so when i start working on the frame to modify it to fit the gix 6 kit i should just use a mild steel then shouldnt i?

ill know more saturday
