Hello,
as you can see, i cannot stop smiling!
i have got a GS500F 2005 colours, and i am over the moon with it,
I have only ridden it today, and i am in the process of breaking the bike in. It has 50 on the clock now, and i was wondering what the power of the bike will feel like once ive broken it in and i can go over 5000 rpm, and then 7000 rpm?
thanks for the feedback.

I think most folks try to keep the rpms around 5k or higher for the best throttle response. You will notice a big difference :thumb:

You're going to love it!  It pulls pretty hard after that (5000).

At least to me, the GS seems fast as hell, but it is the only street bike I've ever owned.

Yes, all of the above but it is worth being carefull for the recomended time also with a new bike the tyres can be a bit slippy until they get a hundred miles on them be careful particularly in the wet.

Welcome and enjoy.

Well just imagine looking at the smallest gap between cars that you could get between in a car.  and you can do it in half that on the bike.

Also if your first in line at a light.  When its green there won't be anyone next to you becaue they will all be slowly catching up behind you.

Welcome. and have fun!

Welcome!

And, yes, 7 grand is a kick in the pants.

Yes with the GS it all seems to happen above 5k. I tend to find that I need to ride 6k plus to have instant throttle response. And if you're going for it from the lights I take her up to about 6k in first then kick her quickly into second and scream it from there, up to 10k if I want to zoom off. I think this is around 50/55 in second :thumb: , but I'm usually watching the tacho to notice what speed I'm doing.

Only thing is, anyone else notice that if you scream it in one gear quite high (say up to 10/11k) when you change up for a slower pace the bike seems to jolt into a more smoother rhythm, almost pushing me forward a bit? Is this the sudden loss of power as the revs go back down?

I think I ride my bike quite hard. But it seems to love it. :)

I remember the time I took it for 8k rpm for the first time after a month of riding under 5k. It was sooo fun :thumb: It feels very slow below 5k. Take your time and break it in carefully.
