Might be selling the GS in the fall.

Well I decided not to get another bike. I'm going to save my money and ride on the GS for another season. I'm just wondering what do you guys think is the best way to get the most money for my GS is? The Want-Ads? Anyone here? I wouldn't want to ship it ( I have no idea how to).

I'll probably be selling it in the Fall so I know I probably won't get as much money for it. What would be better. Wait until Fall '05 to sell it or wait until Spring '06. In the spring it would be considered an older bike since it will be '06, but in the fall there's less demand for buying bikes here.

Also what do used GS' usually go for. I have an '04 which currently has 2500 miles on it. I'm sure it will have more than double that after this summer. So what do you guys think an '04 with 10,000 miles on it could sell for?

I really want to get as close to the price of what I paid for it. Since it's a beginner bike I'm pretty sure there is a big demand for them. When I got it in the summer of '04 all the stores were sold out around here. I was lucky to find one.

I change my mind too much. I hate it. I really think I'm doing the smart thing now though.

You're waaay overcomplicating things.  It's a GS500, not a steel mill.  When it comes time to sell, see what they're selling for in your area.  Then put a for sale sign on it and sell the thing.   ;) :thumb:
Every zero you add to the tolerance adds a zero to the price.

If the product "fails" will the product liability insurance pay for the "failure" until it turns 18?

I live in the woods. Not enough people drive by to see a for sale sign. Just my nieghbors.

I'm also pretty sure none of my nieghbors like bikes because everytime I speed through they always give me bad looks. Especially when I go riding at 6 in the morning.

Maybe I guess I can put a for sale sign behind the wind screen and ride around like a blue 2 wheeled advertisement.

put it on e-bay, offer it with local pickup only, or offer to deliver it up to a certain mileage. set your reserve to what you want to get out of it. ignore any overseas scammers.
You will probably get decent money for it on e-bay, if you word your ad well, and shoot good pics (don't outright lie like some ads i've seen on there about how fast it is etc..., just use words like 'fast' quick' 'nimble' without being specific)

I guess you'll have to supplement with a few listings then.  The for sale board seems to work fairly well.

My neighbors don't like speed either.  They tend to yell at me: "MOO!  MOO!"

Go to http://www.kbb.com.  The Motorcycles link is near the lower-left corner.

Check both the TRADE-IN and RETAIL values.  Figure on the private sale value being somewhere in between them.
