i've got a generic one (emgo?) it's the one you will see occaisionally on e-bay listed for the gs500 (black plastic, tinted screen)

here's a pic of what I'm talking about

it cost me 64.95 locally

oops... forgot to mention... takes the wind off my chest, and pushes most over my head when I am crouched a bit at highway speeds. I took it off for one day a few months ago, couldn't believe how used to it I had become. I don't know if I would enjoy riding without it all the time.

I have a stock Suzuki fairing on my bike, really does nothing for the wind.  Id say it cuts it off up to your lower chest, well on me anyhow.  It is kind of nice to have something to tuck in behind though, and I think it looks better with it.

Up until a few days ago I was riding completely naked.  Then I got some socks....But really...I just flew in from out of town and boy are my arms tired.  Seriously, I just bought a windshield and it makes all the difference.  Completely takes all the wind off my chest and my head barely buffets.  Highly recommended for any freeway riding or speeds over 50mph especially on longer rides(3+ hours) on wide open plains when the wind becomes too much to handle.  Not very enjoyable.

I've got the National Cycle F-15 Sport (there is an F-15 Touring model too, that is huge).

It is good.

(sorry for the late reply)
but doesnt the windshield increases wind noise?

Turkina

The windscreen doesn't really add too much to the wind noise, if you have it positioned correctly.  On a sportbike, you want the wind blast to hit either above or below the helmet while riding.  Wind blast on helmet makes noise.

If you want to try out a windscreen for pretty cheap, I have an unused generic one that I do need to pass on.  Completely new, other than me assembling it.  Decided to get a Givi fairing instead, not that it's bad or anything.  You gotta dremel a bit under the smoked windscreen to fit the gauges I hear (I was lazy at the time and liked the Givi's looks better) but not bad.

Oh, and definitely, it does keep you from getting tired.  Even the Harley Street rod has a little blast deflector.
