Anybody playing 'World of Warcraft'

I just started playing 'World of Warcraft', an online massive multiplayer fantasy adventure game. The game is unbelievably addictive. I've met alot of great people, had alot of fun, and lost alot of sleep. After the kids are asleep my wife and I are in the game, hacking our way into the legends of heros. :)

I am curious if anybody here is playing the game. If we're on the same realm we can find each other in the world, unless we are opposite factions.
As my Uncle Bilbo used to say, "It's a dangerous thing taking your motorcycle out of the garage. If you don't keep your wits about you there's no telling where you'll be swept off to."

Wow! I checked out the Blizzard site and some of the screenshots were amazing!  I played Diablo II for a while and I know alot of people still do...you'd think they'd have given it up for WoW by now...WoW makes Diablo II look like Frogger in comparison.  It's really amazing what they are doing with MMPs now.  I can't wait to see the Matrix online if they ever het around to releasing it.

How far along are you?  If I get it you'll have to give me your username so we can hook up so I can kick your arse.   :)

Yes yes and yes.

WoW is a lifestyle. As is the GS.

I have characters on Stonemaul, Kilrogg, Burning Blade, Firetree, and Boulderfist.

The majority of my time is spent with Blackiron on Boulderfist.

Sign on and we can work at getting our "mounts" to cycle around on together.

I don't have characters in either of those realms. I'm in Thuderhorn and Khadgar. Pick a realm where you have a low level character and I'll start a character and meet you. Let me know if you are Horde or Alliance. If enough people form GSTwin play the game we'll have to start up a guild and call it something cheesy like GS Apocolypse or Hell's 500's.

I don't see myself getting bored that quick, I already have a character over level 17. The upper levels seems to be where the fun really starts. If you get bored with the mundane quests then go get into and all out war with the other side. I've gotten into a few wars and they are a blast, even though I was low level by comparison and got my butt smoked pretty early on. :o

If you still have an active account give it one more try with some friends from GSTwin.

I can and will start a new character to get into the game at the ground level with some folks from GSTwin. We cna kick each others butts all day or we can group together and go kick other's butts. Its all good fun. :thumb:

Was in the beta for WoW, but I didn't like it all that much. MMO games should focus a lot on the social aspects and WoW just didn't have enough of it for me. I've been trying out The Matrix for the last week. This one wont last either. Very buggy and slow, but that's nothing new for a starting MMO game.

I'm very big into Star Wars Galaxies, though. Have been playing that since early beta. The new expansion is gonna change the entire interface of the game so that's going to be interesting. Anyone playing on the Bria server?

Are you kidding? My daughter has been playing for only a couple of weeks and has a 'friends' list that spans the globe. Her character hardly ever levels up because she spends her time 'chatting' with a huge variety of friends. They quest just to get enough money to buy gifts for each other.

I personally only socialize enough to assemble a group capable of getting the job done wether its acheiving quests or smiting the self-rightous Alliance (I love playing the bad guys in this game, as the undead you can feast upon the corpses of your enemies....yum).

I play with a friend from out-of-state that I used to only see about 2 times a year and now we play WOW together almost every night.

I've been playing for about a month now.

For the horde!!

anyway, i have a lvl 54 shaman on Burning Legion if anyone wants to look me up, char name is "bulbol"

i'll help you out since you're a fellow gs'er =)

its a great game.  a lot better and simpler imo than EQ.  I played eq for a while but got turned off with the "must have a group" mentality and the kill stealing etc.

so yeah, anyone wants to play let me know...like i said, i'm on burning legion =)

edit: tonight i'll be on most of the night since i'm leaving the country for 2 weeks.  so look me up tonight if you want and i'll add you to my small guild :)

So I've decided that I am going to buy the game tonight.  Any tips on what race/class to choose and what side to be on would be appreciated.  It would be cool if we could all play on the same team so let's decide if it's good or bad.  I don't care either way.

Ideally we would build a team of different classes to cover each area of combat.

i'm on burning legion server, its on a mid population level.  whatever you do avoid the high population servers because they lag like hell.

well like i said i Play horde side.  Shaman lvl 54 now, been playing for a month.  I could guide you guys for a bit and help you on quests since i pretty much know the progression of the horde side.

1. horde side - underdogs, not pretty scenery like alliance.
2. alliance - bad pvp'ers.  noobs, gankers =)

That's fine. I'm sure it's perfect for a lot of people. It's definitely not as extensive as other MMO games, though (ie. Galaxies, Everquest, Anarchy Online, etc...). I have a lot of experience with these games and WoW is much more focused on its combat system where as the other MMO games are more balanced with combat and non-combat professions.

Roguegeek, anarchy online looks cool from some of the screenshots I have seen.  In your opinion which is the best RPG?  SWG looks cool too...well, all of the Sony RPGs look cool.

Only computer game I play is Nascar 2002. Always wanted to drive a cup car and I missed by quite a few years the chance to ever get in one. Now I can race to my heart's content. If you have a good wheel and pedals it is really quite a blast, especially when you turn the competition up into the upper 90's percentage-wise. Love the little vertical twin and the forum dedicated to it.
