While swapping a working engine for one with a blown top-end (previous owner had it jetted, advanced, then decided on octane booster) I scraped it up a 'lil bit. Anyone have ideas of a good touch-up paint? Wondering if the high-temp can type that I use to cover my exhaust would work. Also found that my right engine gaurds snapped (part of the eyelet where gaurd mounts to the lower engine). Would a re-weld be fine or would that compromise it's strength too much? It's much cheaper for me 'cause there's a welder down the street. Unless anyone has a spare right engine guard around? And while emoving one engine on your own is tough, two in a day is outright ridiculous. A true test of patience.

I would say any good quality engine paint would be fine in that application. Engine paint can withstand quite a bit of abuse and seems to become even tougher with age. You can get it in glossy, semi-flat and flat in a variety of colors from white to green to black to purple and everything in between. Love those little GS500's and the GStwin forum.
